Time flies, February in another day!

I had a catch up with Cheryl today, we have decided to have a so called "monthly catch-up" since our last catch up in January simply because both us love cafe hopping and we shared lots of similar topics.

Today, she brought me to this cafe named Aether cafe at TTDI, and I discovered my colleague. Ching Yee actually been here and insta what she eaten~

Oh well, I guess this cafe is famous then =D

But actually not so, because it is hidden inside an office block, along with a private gym club and a children creative centre.

The environment actually is really cozy where you can spot leafy view from the cafe's window, but we were not early so the small cafe with limited seats were quite pack.

We still lucky to got a small table just beside the counter, easy to spot by the staffs, so our order were taken promptly.

20160228_140634.jpg

A drink to start: a blooming flower tea, just not with a brightful pleasant color.

Another blogger posted this drink too, but hers was more pleasant looking than mine which is real dull. I think it was because we sat a rather dark corner with not much of perfect lighting.

20160228_122857.jpg

Cheryl's peanut butter salad was yummy, but evil to be a salad =S

I am not a salad person, hence I go for the savory egg wrap.

20160228_123401.jpg

20160228_123452.jpg

Honestly, it did not meet my expectation. The egg is too watery (not even runny), and too mushy, though i quite like the toast with the baked bean.

However, there werent much options to be chosen. the menu is a simple one page paper, with only a few savoury choices.

But, if you are looking somewhere healthy, less meat and oily meal, Aether can be a good place to go. Just, I am meat fan and I wouldnt go to cafe for healthy meal =P

Cheryl also ordered the rainbow shots, come with 6 different type of fruit juice which is naturally in different color, hence called rainbow~

20160228_123201.jpg

If you didnt really feel the rainbow color, blame the phone, you can see below photo for the edited version:

IMG_20160228_184936.jpg

Hmmm, seems no much different =S

The rainbow shots indeed photogenic, because of the multiple colors and also served in test tubes~ but please dont keep your hope high, because they are just simply orange juice, pineapple juice, dragon fruit juice, carrot juice, apple juice and watermelon juice.

However, appreciate they being healthy without any sugar added. =)

Cheryl is quite thirsty today, she ordered another pot of flower tea.

Perhaps we also have a long conversation today =)

20160228_141036.jpg

I personally prefer this flower tea than the blooming flower tea. This one is more refreshing and comfy to drink with.

20160228_141050.jpg

Look at the pot and cup, so cute~

I guess Aether's menu is too healthy for me, which did not really sastify my crave for cafe food.

So, after a rather short duration of struggling, I decided to order their new waffle menu - earl grey waffle.

20160228_142009.jpg

The Earl grey flavor is interesting, but it is not really intense.

Though it is not really a wow, but it did sastified my crave, I am indeed a dessert fan =P

What's next? Looking forward for our next catch up.

It had been a wee while that I last met Cheryl, it is indeed a good catch up today.

She picked me up at One Utama this morning and brought me to a cafe which is quite popular recently - Frisky Goat.

The cafe is actually quite small and compact, many people I must said, but luckily we came earlier and only waited less than 5 mins to get a table.

I had browsed the net and discovered they are popular with their waffle stack, but I decided to go for healthy brunch today, hence I ordered myself an egg florentine casserole which was a not wise choice.

20160131_114533.jpg20160131_114543.jpg

The casserole itself is quite dry and to me, this plate did not meet my brunch's sastification~

I guess I should have go for the waffles....oh well.

20160131_124130.jpg20160131_124135.jpg

Luckily the follow up cafe hopping was a success, The Artisan Roast Coffee is already on my approved list of cafe that deserved second visit =D

There are too many new cafes opened in Klang valley nowadays, the cafe blooming trend is somehow good thing for foodie like me.

But to find a cafe which serves really good food especially food that made you revisit is really hard.

As I have said, there are too many cafes out there, and you need to be very special and outstanding to attract the second attempt, otherwise people would rather go to explore others.

Artican roast coffee served very good hot chocolate, it is beyond my imagination.

20160131_131005.jpg

I was expecting maybe just a simply sweet chocolate, but it turned up really good, it is not that sweet, but the chocolate flavor is rounded and contains nice fragrance with a mild bitterness after taste.

20160131_124743.jpg

Then I must said this is the best tiramisu I had in Malaysia so far.

For someone who had experience foreign western life for almost 6 years, I really have a high demand when comes to western dessert.

So far for most high rated tiramisu in Klang valley that I tasted, most of them was just fancy in appearance, and sweet in taste.

I am looking for something creamy or so called runny, with coco, coffee and rum taste, which is typical tiramisu contains.

The only thing that is missed out from this small pot perhaps is the rum, I guess it is because of the halal issue.

20160131_131616.jpg

But I am already happy with what I had today~

20160131_124144.jpg

Looking at this girl, see how slim she is!! It was a great catch up, I am happy that she found a good job, most likely better than mine.

She also looking fabulous now, I hope she could find someone better.

Last but not the least, I got myself a sandal again today ==. this is my 3rd pair for this CNY.

I actually saw this pair of sandal at Pyramid last week but my size was out of stock, then I made a reservation at the Aeon Bkt Tinggi branch, but ended up I got it from the One U branch lol

20160131_170116.jpg20160131_170436.jpg

And also showing you one of my bracelet collection which I got from Padini. I am looking forward for chinese new year =)

I recalled how I used to pack my lunch when I was working in NZ, but the working culture back to Malaysia is so much different.

I have no longer bringing a container to work, and was looking forward for what we going to have during lunch.

"Go where to eat?" = this is the one million dollar question because we always said whatever, but we also always have a comment on the picked restaurant.

So here comes chaper 2, the food that I did capture during lunch time or after work.

20150824_131130.jpg

First, it was the very creamy carbonara at Upstair cafe, we spent much time at cafe after Derrick joining at our department tho.

20150827_133255.jpg

Then, my team really love McD's. The only thing that can make me pay McD's for a visit perhaps are just their dessert.

Not delicious, but good enough to try out new pie or McFlurry.

As I said my team love McD's, they actually are fast food lover....I wonder why KFC also into prawn business but McD's just couldnt afford bring Ebi burger to Malaysia?!

20150923_130024.jpg

20150923_130539.jpg

To be honest, don't go for their wavvy prawn, it's not worth ==.

My eyes blinked when I saw the new dessert menu on Sakae Sushi Ipad board, they were so colorful and attractive so I decided to have one.

20151002_140804.jpg

20151002_140810.jpg

20151009_130147.jpg

Please don't go for it if you have high demand on dessert especially for Japanese, i learnt my lesson, photo is always for marketing purpose.

But I do think is good to go for their small sashimi bowl if you have a small stomach.

20151009_125000.jpg

I always want to try the cake at Serai, and thanks to Six Sigma project, I got the chances to get the cakes for free =P

20151201_195835.jpg

We had the heavenly tiramisu and also strawberry pavlova for sharing. Indeed their cakes are nice, but very sweet ==

Luckily we shared them, and apparently their pandan banana fritter was also very famous but they were all sold out during our dining.

20151201_195843.jpg

Actually Serai's main is also not to be missed out, but overall their food was very pricy for local food.

Recently we discovered one of the pasta place at Pyramid which serves lunch set that come with drinks that only cost for RM12++

20160113_131823.jpg

Their cordon bleu pasta was quite nice because they freshly made and rolled the pastry and filling.

20160129_123519.jpg

Hungry brunch is another option we found out at Pyramid that also serves lunch set.

The lunch set comes with soup of the day, main and dessert of the day. The price is depends on the value of the main.

20160129_124931.jpg

The mushroom soup was not those can soup so is quite nice, not too starchy or salty, but too bad I couldnt find mushroom ==

20160129_125818.jpg

The main I chose was the grilled chicken chop, the chicken is quite tiny and very dry hence need to have lots of sauce.

Then, the mashed potato actually taste sour =S, I hope it is not because of the food quality.

20160129_131956.jpg

Dessert was just normal ice cream, but is a expensive one, La Cremeria.

Overall, still an ok option to have lunch but maybe need to choose wisely for the menu next time.

Last, this was the lunch we had with Kelvin for his farewell at the Hungry Hog.

I dint take the photo of my chili pasta because it was really yucks, dry and soggy. Well, again need to choose wisely for menu if there is next time.

So we had a Fresco Reunion (Sze, Huey Yee and me, without Shaun, again ==) after Pui Yee's wedding which was on the following day at Mid Valley.

Mid Valley actually has many good cafe and food options, the only thing that annoyed me is the Mid Valley distance and car park.

It is too far and parking always packed hence I will need to travel via KTM (local train commuter) that annoyed me the most.

Oh well, but today I follow's Sze's dad car so I am totally fine.

First stop - ALexis. Always want to drop by this cafe due to it popularity on social media, finally got a chance!

20151018_113659.jpg

We ordered 2 slices of cake to share with, and along with our tea/coffee of choice.

20151018_112909.jpg

The first slice of cake is this yummy looking Pavlova, though I am not really a Pavlova fan, but Alexis's pavlova is really evil and yummy!

The next we have is this nutty tiramisu cake, for this taste was not too bad, but I still prefer the traditional tiramisu with just simple chocolate powder on top.

20151018_112919.jpg

Somehow, we were sastified with what we had in Mid Valley =D

Then, during lunch time, we headed to the finally come to Malaysia, Japanese popular ramen chain - Ippudo~

20151018_131317.jpg

I had been long waiting for this popular ramen chain, heard they started open outlets in Singapore and was tempting to visit and hope they will come to Malaysia one day.

I guess they heard my wish and tada, they opened in Mid Valley too after their first outlet at Pavillion.

img1445752531940.jpg

As Alexis had fullfill our hunger, we just ordered 2 ramen set for sharing.

Apparently there are not many options for ramen, we ordered Shiromaru Motoaji ramen and Karaka-men

However, both ramen was actually dissapointing, the broth was just purely salty, the charsiu was alright, but the noodles was soggy and soft.

I don't know what wrong with the chef, or just happened to be on that day we had ramen, the quality was really bad.

For the side dish, they were better than the ramen for sure, but not outstanding either.

20151018_131920.jpg

The seared salmon roll with mentaiko was surprisingly good as compared with the ramen, only thing that sastified us.

20151018_131932.jpg

As for dessert, they just served us some waffle ice-cream which I guess is just a normal Japanese retail product. Not really impressive but not too fussy about it as it comes with the set lunch.

20151018_135554.jpg

But to be honest, I started to feel insecure with those famous oversea food chain coming into Malaysia, I think most of their quality drops for Malaysian chain.

I am not sure whether is due to the chef's skill or raw material quality....but yep, I better dont put up high expectation to any overseas famous food chain that opened in Malaysia.

Anyways, it was a good catch up with Sze and Huey Yee, unfortunately we dint take photo....AGAIN!

P/S: Sze please stay bright and well in Germany, hope I really can meet you there =)

Again? Yes, you wouldnt believe how many cakes I had eaten this year, or I should say, how many birthday desserts I had in 2015.

This time we (Teng, Bean, Chyi, Yimei and I) had another gathering/birthday celebration for me at Delicious at Setia City mall.

Why did I specify the location? Because their desserts were terrible!

Ok, let's talk about their usual main first. They offered special promotion on dinner set, which come with a small entree and ice lemon tea.

Here's what I had: pumpkin risotto balls as entree and beef burger as main

20151009_203735.jpg

The pumpkin risotto is already good enough for my dinner, because they are huge and filled with enriching risotto in it.

But the taste actually was just alright, I dint even finish all of them.

20151009_203801.jpg

For the burger, also just normal. But I did enjoy the salad and chips...I guess the dinner set is good enough for people who are not care for the taste because they are real big.

Delicious is always famous with their cakes, but I had awful desserts tonight.

We ordered 3 desserts: A lime cake, Macademia and salted cheese cake and a banofee pie.

20151009_214143.jpg 20151009_214157.jpg

20151009_214213.jpg

They all looked alright but believe me, the cakes were stale and very mushy which we believed it had been left at the counter for days.

Moreover the service that night was horrible, the staffs actually judged us during our dining time and made lots of unnecessary comments.

While we complained about the stale cakes, they were just fussed about it and said would offer us free cakes, but their attitude was really rude.

Oh well, regardless of the worst service ever I encountered, I did have a good night with them, too bad we forgotten to take a group photo. ==

IMG-20150924-WA0022.jpg

Now comes Part 2 - thanks to my dearest besties - Bean, Cheen and Chin, I had a very awesome celebration today!

We gone to SS15 for cafe hunting, and picked Alchemist cafe just because it was quite high rated on website.

20150924_184903.jpg

20150924_184915.jpg

20150924_151119.jpg

Well, SS15 is blown up with various cafes and believe me, you couldnt hunt all of them!

20150924_151530.jpg

I have mojito chilled drink to kick start my brunch, their drinks are cheaper than most of the cafes out there.

Then, brunch today definitely is their cafe's famous big breakfast! All of us have one!

IMG-20150924-WA0019.jpg

20150924_152952.jpg

Alchemist big breakfast - scrambled eggs, ham, grilled mushroom, grilled sausage, baked beans with their signature waffle.

I actually kinda forgot their waffle taste, so I guess it shall be just typical, but not too bad since I dont have bad memories with it. LOL.

I just remember their breakfast indeed is big and very satisfying.

20150924_152817.jpg

Looks how Bean happily enjoyed her meal XD

20150924_162710.jpg

IMG-20150924-WA0021.jpg

Of cause, they never disappointing me as they throw me a surprise with the specially made waffle dessert.

I was still thinking to get dessert somewhere else =D

Then, chin and I were so excited talking about the lovely cakes we had last year in Jibby and Co.

So, yes we were crazy enough to continue our dessert hunting + dinner at Jibby~

20150924_195050.jpg

The cakes come before our main, we indeed have sweet tooth!

20150924_195612.jpg

20150924_195436.jpg

I finally got to try their famous meteor cake, it is super delicious!!!

Even now, I still can recall how smooth is the mousse texture and their sweet crunchy chocolate flakes melt in my mouth!

20150924_200631.jpg

Bean and I shared a rather nice shredded duck pasta, the only thing need to be improved is just it is quite salty.

To compliment the salt, I have a tea tonight.

20150924_195839.jpg

We had a great day today, I felt so lucky to have all of you as my dearest frens, we shared joy, anger, sadness together in 1 long day.

IMG-20150924-WA0027.jpg

Thank you BFFs!

P/S: I also bought a Mei XIn mooncake~ to celebrate for my birthday and the moon festival =)

Apparently today is Black Friday, but to me, today is "sweet tooth day"!

My tooth have been filled in with sugar since early morning~

20151127_064326.jpg

Dad had bought a cake because the bakery shop we used to visit is having 18% discount for all their bakeries.

It is a chocolate cake, with cherries within, not bad though.

Then, due to the company in-house event for White ribbon, I got free cupcakes~

20151127_164341.jpg

Actually I am not a cupcake fan, and chose not to eat them.

However, the cupcakes seems irresistible when Pek Shan brought to me =)

Though I really hate to say this, this butter cupcake really really yummy!! OMG!!!

(p/s: I just have one though =P)

If you think this is enough for my sweet tooth today, you are wrong....

I had meet up with Huey Yee tonight too, we had dinner at Sushi Zanmai then of cause not missed out dessert!

We went to caffe bene, this is also the second time visit after my first time visit with Huey Yee too last year!

 20151127_211658.jpg
I have read somewhere that their waffle also quite famous, so we have the rice cake waffle.

20151127_211707.jpg

My comment? The waffle is dry and soggy, not crispy enough.

Price wise is also rather expensive for such a small waffle, which cost RM13+

The only thing I like about it is the red bean rice cake or mochi on top of it, but they did not match at all, honestly the mochi waffle I had at coffee signature is far more delicious.

20151127_211805.jpg

We got the limited time only bingsu - Choco bene Bingsu

Frankly speaking, I still prefer their green tea bingsu, I felt this choco bene bingsu is quite typical, nothing so unique about it to be limited time variety.

I personally dislike the brownie cube on top of the bingsu, they are very soft and mushy, not really appetizing.

Although the dessert experience this time at caffe bene seems disappointing, but I still enjoyed the night here.

I guess it was just a wrong options for the dessert tonight, I actually had another plan for trying their pat-bingsu on my next visit =)

I had many great celebrations for my 28th anniversary arrival to this world this year, with colleagues, besties, family and frens.

Really felt grateful for this, I was pampered with so much of love and care~

Thank you.

20150923_181550.jpg

Here's my first surprise this year, Derrick, our newly joined department colleague actually got his mum to make Jacklyn and I a cake!

Moreover, it is a red velvet cake, the flavor which I never used to like =S

But unbelievable, Derrick's mum actually have done a good job, the red velvet cake is incredibly yummy and rich =D

It changed my mind towards red velvet~ hmmm, now i understand why there are huge fans out there craving for red velvet cakes~

IMG-20150923-WA0002.jpg

Jack and my birthday is just 1 week apart, so fair enough for us to have a co-celebration.

Everyone were happy with the cake, and enjoyed it sooooo mucchhhie~

IMG-20150923-WA0004.jpg

I actually have thought they would get me a cake, well it's already a department culture to celebrate everyone's birthday.

But I kinda act fool towards their surprise, yet they already mentioned we would dine out for dinner that night =P

We were actually thinking to visit Garage 51, but Karen, CY and Derrick gone into the wrong cafe, yes you dint get me wrong, they gone into the WRONG cafe....leaving me and Jack waiting patiently for free table at Garage 51.

Both cafes were at the end of blocks, and painted in black, just happened that they dint really spot the cafe name.

In the end, we gave up Garage due to the long queue and head to where Karen was - After Black.

20150923_193415.jpg

This is also one of the new cafes joining the coffee culture area at Sunway.

Rather than usual pasta, the menu here is actually quite interesting, I have this cheesy baked assorted mushroom~

IMG_20151014_143847.jpg

There are like almost 4-5 varieties of mushroom, grilled at the hot claypot with cheese~

Taste overall is ok, mushrooms are fresh and nicely baked, just for people like me who is "cannibal" would not satisfy for dish without meat LOL.

IMG-20150925-WA0001.jpg

I did enjoy the meal and the night, thanks peers~

Today is a very relaxing and peaceful day, besides celebrating the nation's 58th birthday (Well, Not i really care for =S), we celebrated Kok chin's advanced and Bee Peng's belated birthday =D

What's made today a great day because we have a good number of attendance for such a nice cozy day =)

IMG-20150831-WA0010

There are 10 of us which is considered incredible gathering with such many people.

IMG-20150831-WA0011

I hope kok chin and bpeng is happy with our's little giving. =)

20150831_123408

We have our birthday lunch at Coffee Origin, located at Botanic, where I was not aware of.

20150831_123308

20150831_123354

20150831_123416

The cafe is very comfy and cozy, good to know there is such a nice place in the neighbourhood <3

20150831_123256

They displayed so many different and unique items surrounding the whole cafe, it took me a while to explore all the corner as I arrived quite early with no one (except our gang) there.

20150831_123435

20150831_123423

20150831_123329

This list pasted on the sliding door indeed creative, and encouraging!

I have a "proper meal", which sounds very formal....well i dont feel it is proper because look at this!

20150831_124525

How could you name this "PROPER"?! This is way too much! There is a bowl of rice underneath the egg!

The rice is named meditarrean rice which is slightly sticky and cooked together with mixed vege and sauce.

It combines well with the runny egg yolk, but i did feel the egg was slightly overcooked.

I chose the pork chop for my protein, the marinade of the meat is not bad, just a bit dry for the pork, and I totally ignored the sauce given.

The bacon and ham are ok, I did feel there are too "porky", as all the protein are from the non-halal meat.

But it is good to have brunch with pork, no offense!

As for the side salad, I do think they poured too much balsamic vinegar, the vege is very little to balance the large meat portion.

However, in terms of cost (RM18), with the portion of meat provided and large serving size, it is a good deal.

Well, for drinks, they served a lots of coffee with different flavor, for non-coffee drinker like me, I chose this:

20150831_124228

Matcha smooties - which tasted like frappe~ I like their matcha, which is quite origin and not too sweet.

Of cause, we wouldnt miss out dessert, I guess I found out where is the cafe which serves good waffle at Botanic.

A few frens of mine did mention about the cafe that serves good waffle, and I believe they were pointing at Coffee origin.

IMG-20150831-WA0012

Their waffle indeed amazing, with honey glazed bacon combining the crunchy waffle, topped with cookies, banana and ice cream.

Believe me, the bacon matched so well with the dessert!

I dont feel too guilty as so many of us sharing this evil plate...lol.

IMG-20150831-WA0009

Then, this is the birthday waffle we gifted to the birthday boy and girl~

Assorted fruit mochi waffle - the name just triggered my curiousity and I couldnt help to find out where is the mochi.

They actually place the chewy mochi inside the waffle, create a combination of crunchy and chewy texture upon biting the waffle.

Yummy~ I dare to come here for the next time just to eat this whole thing!

who cares about diet!? (.....I do....==)

I guess I need take more effort on losing my weight, cutting off the fat seems so hard after back home.

Just because I am no longer cooking what I am eating, just because I am no longer burning my fat like how i did in nz....

just because vivian you are making too much excuses!

Oh yeah, life change, and so does I have to take extra effort to move on like what nicole adviced.

Otherwise, I would just drowning in the swirl of life, living like a zombie without any purpose.

So stay up and move forward vivian, with my creative bangs....

20150831_182153

LOL, i just couldnt stand my messy hair anymore, and cut myself a little fringe this morning.

I am not regreting, in fact, I do think I am slightly refreshed with this tiny change.

Is time to visit the salon. =P

I thought it would be a long night, since I was handling a challenging trial tonight.

Finally I had come to the time I have to face this project, I had taken this project since my ex-colleague left last year.

However, the project was not progressing until last month, 2 markets were demanding for this new product, and one of the market is agressively requesting for a quick launching

Well, I only participated in the middle processing previously, and now I am leading the whole trial, indeed, I am stressed.

Of cause, this is not the first time I leading trial, but for this new product, I did worry because it involved new processing which I had not encountered before.

Thank god the trial went well, tho there were some barriers and miscommunication, but overall we made it.

Perhaps my trial batch size was not too much, so my trial actually finish around 6pm. (we initially assume it would be all done by at least 8pm)

So what a relief!

Without second thought, I said YES when my colleagues asked me for Starbucks~

Tada! The last time I went for starbucks was in NZ, perhaps with Paya/Janis....

I am nt really a starbucks fan, because to me, 1. lots of sugar; 2. pricy $$$; 3. evil but irresistible cream on top; I couldnt say no when was asked: do you want cream on top?

But, I dont mind once in a long while....i think it had been 2 yrs since my last starbucks.

I ordered the new released frappe - Mocha HoneyComb Crunch

And in fact, it looks like this~ you might notice that there was no honeycomb on top, I found out after a sip.

20150813_191017

Luckily the staff was very kind, they apologized for the mistake and poured me full, large honeycomb on top!! I think they even topped up some cream too.

Well, it is lucky because usually this kind of service is rarely happen in our country.

20150813_191327

But, I think how I pronounced my surname had misleaded the staff....I was named 'Pen'

In malaysia, people pronouce Tan as "ton", and when I went abroad to the western world, we pronouced as "ten", tan exactly meaning tanning the skin, which is a process to make brown by exposure to UV.

So, does this mean I am still havent fully adapted to the Malaysia culture?

Oh well, I think I am getting there (not sure if is a good thing), because recently I found out I used a lots of "lah", "ba" or "leh"...oh my, please dont....

Ok we gossips a lot tonight, mainly about our demanding, unreasonable, incapable "new" manager....

As we are not able to make her to leave, we only could share our insastifactions and hoping she could improve or leave us earlier~

Let's see how we going to endure these shit that thrown by her on coming days...

But before that, let's enjoy our frappe~

Yes, as I expected, all ppl who work in R&D field (food) are foodies!

I had so much fun in exploring various food when given a reason to go out for work. LOL

FYI, sometimes my job required me to go to McD's stores (as my company supply meat protein for M) in various area, and that's a good time for food hunting before or after work =)

This post will be conclude the food that I been attempt during job or lunch time~

Jipangi - silly ice cream

20150108_195645

I do think it is silly, just by placing the normal ice cream into the large J-shaped corn tube and cost RM11, ppl indeed know marketing

The ice cream taste nothing special, yet the "corn tube" is quite hard to chew.

20150108_195855

My advise: dont try them, not worth it.

KFC - KA team favourite meal

Well, I am no longer a KFC fan after entering current industry, but my other team love fast food a lot!

It was the promotion for the cornflake coated fried chicken, and they decided to go for a try.

20141104_125421

I like the refreshing light lime flavor, but i dont find the cornflake coating interesting. Frankly speaking, the cornflakes are too little, and it did not make much different with the original coating.

I also must be crazy to try on their dessert, it is one of their Italian dessert range - tartufo.

Looks nice on the ads, but in reality, it looks like this:

20141104_131213

Mine is still ok to eat, my colleague ordered Profiteroles, is yucks!

Jibby & Co. - farewell dinner

It is somehow unbelievable that we can get farewell event (company paid) at Jibby, because we all knew that Jibby meal is not cheap to fit in company budget demand =P

I guess the person who to be farewell must be special @@

img1426086852603

The meiji strawberry milk was not sold here, I bought it at Shojikiya store before go into the dining place

20150311_191921

Then, shared this Tiger prawn and Blue swimmer crab pasta with another colleague

20150311_192000

Only things not sharing perhaps is this Coco Longo, sigh, seriously I rather pay my own bill and took my own meal ==

Soft Srve - one of the ice cream trend

20150325_170230

Went here after our visit at store, this soft serve dessert place was kinda popular that time, but now, various soft serve places had been popped up.

20150325_164528

The signature of their soft serve is because they freeze the ice cream with CO2 (dry ice), moreover, a small cube of dry ice is placed in a cup, then only topped with another cup of the ice cream being ordered, which "create" a scene of ice cream was served in  "fog"

Soft serve in the bar mainly are categorized into 2 groups: vanilla vs deep chocolate

We chose one of each group: I chose the breakfast soft serve, vanilla based soft serve topped with macaron shell and caramelized cereal

20150325_164617

Whereas my AM chose Churros with soft serve, deep chocolate soft serve topped with churro

The deep chocolate ice cream is nicer compared to the vanilla, but overall I dont taste very good of them.

Honestly, I wouldnt go for the second time, as to me, these type of food are just a trend, and it wouldnt last long.

RM10+ for ice cream? Not too many times....

Franco - japanese and french fusion

20150513_112924

Originally was named "Miao Miao", but the cafe is getting pupular after changing name, and opened more chain around damansara area.

I had lunch set, which come with the pasta and soft drink.

20150513_114432

Pasta was just Ok, but portion is generous, suitable for big eater i guess.

I definitely did not miss out the famous pancake here, ordered the Adzuki Red Bean & Jelly Pancake Match Softee.

IMG_20150518_151825

Love the interaction between the cold matcha soft serve with the hot pancake at the bottom. The pancake is also matcha flavoured and very soft =)

I think I would like to try their signature french toast for next time.

Capricciosa - meet up with Hajar

It was like a farewell lunch with Hajar before her departure to NZ, and we chose Capricciosa.

Noticed for this Italian restaurant for a long time, but had not try out yet.

So it was a good oportunity too =)

20150205_130825

We shared this salad for the purpose of "lou sang" because it was before CNY. lol

Then myself ordered this calamari pasta, it was actually just alright.

20150205_131844

Ecole. P - let's back to school

20150109_131730

This school themed cafe is actually very cool from the entrance, a very positive start!

20150109_130717

20150109_13174320150109_131521

Then the cafe ambience is cozy, although it made me feel like I ald back to school

20150109_132433

There are these cute and fun tags, definitely good for photo

Small snacks was served when the barista brought over the "exercise book menu",

20150109_131017 20150109_131351

and also a "test paper" special lunch set menu

20150109_130951 20150109_130932

Glad that they have lunch set, come with pasta and ice drink.

20150109_131831

Their drinks remind me of buying those drink in plastic bag during old school time.

Look at their culinary, they placed them in the pencil box and inside the school bag hanging beside the table!

20150109_132632 20150109_132522

Their main was alright, and instantly we spotted their special dessert, and ordered this

20150109_134203

Nasi Lemak creme brulee!

There's ikan bilis (anchovy), peanuts and cucumber on top of the creme brulee, come together with their special mild spicy and berry "sambal" sauce.

Although there are many good feedback for this dessert on the net, but both me and my AM think the nasi lemak flavor actually did not match well with the creme brulee

Moreover, I do think the creme brulee itself is too creamy, I guess they add in coconut milk to match the nasi lemak taste, but it was actually too rich.

That's just my opinion, the cafe also have received good feedback for their waffles, so maybe next time I would pay another visit if I have the chance.

Overall it is a fun cafe to hang out~

Last but not the least - US (Underground Societe) - another good spot for dessert

Perhaps, I shall not claim that because I have yet to try out their famous dessert

Thanks to my new colleague, he introduced all of us to this cozy place for lunch yesterday (yes, it was just yesterday!)

This cafe is actually the 3rd chain from the owner after Garage 51 and Coffee Societe, and it is so close to my work place, YEAH!

There are RM10 set lunch during weekdays, perfect for OL.

But it is just a single option for the promotion, for Friday, we get this: Grilled Breast with chips...

20150807_135934

The portion is good enough to fill up for lunch, and it come with soft drink for RM10, include GST!

Food is ok, too hard to go wrong with grilled chicken and chips...

Alright, that's all for now, will have more food choices in future =D

Ok it was just 2 mths ago, and now I recalled it was actually a fun night.

I actually enjoy hanging around with Hui Bee because she is positive, straight forward and funny to talk to.

We had Thai food on her big day~

IMG-20150614-WA0011IMG-20150614-WA0009

We went to this newly opened Thai restaurant in Botanic and actually quite a good experience because usually we hang out for cafe, or japanese food.

So having Thai food with frens is quite interesting, and this Thai restaurant serve quite good food.

Keep smiling, frens! =D

FInally got to meet up with Cheryl today, after almost a year plus!

She back for good almost the same time as me, and our last conversation was about she still hunting a job while I am in the middle changing to a new job

time flies, we were saying about meeting each other all time, but action never been taken =P

So great that both of us made an effort today, for the first time, I drive all by myself to Damansara (One U), perhaps for Malaysian who used to drive, that's mean nothing.

But to me, it mean a lot, because so far I only have a year + driving experience, and afraid to drive out of my comfort zone

Therefore, to drive to that far was one of my target (as I easily give up on driving that fast and rely on my parents), so it felt like an achievement.

Then, not to mention I also had come across another milestones yesterday as I continuous run for 2/3 jogging track of the park near my house (note: the park is quite large).

I thought I could not make it for the routine jogging on every weekend yesterday because I unconsciously hurt my leg past few days ago.

But, surprisingly I run even further and longer =)

Back to the catch up with Cheryl today, it was a good time.

I arrived around 11am which was 1 hr earlier than our meeting time, but got chances to walk around one U

the last time I arrived was exactly the last time I met up her, lol, she also shocked I never come here.

Oh well, I found one U have no much difference than other shopping mall, but good to know they have some special shop like Typo, Nana Green Tea, Franco etc.

Cheryl suggested we can try the spagetti in L.Table (part of Lavender cafe, but only in One U) as frens around her commenting was not too bad, I was a little hesitate at first because Lavender bakeries in Klang are awful and pricy.

However, we finally decided to get a try, as open rice also recommend it.

20150802_12523020150802_130003

To start, I ordered the coconut mild red bean jelly shake, but it was not really nice, red bean is not good fren with coconut.

The cafe have a rather "high class" ambience, as in the decoration and people dining here seems come from high society

A few tables were served with red wine, and the diner were dressed in good outfit.

Or I should say One U indeed part of KL, and ppl here are well dressed up?

Actually their brunch menu is kinda fascinating, with range of different breakfast like breakfast cupcakes, avocado; egg and sausage tortilla wrap etc.

However both us turned down and picked the safest menu - pasta.

20150802_131053

I ordered this Pappardelle with Duck Stroganoff as I find the name unique, and I just wanna try different variety of pasta.

Now I learnt a new dish =) Stroganoff is more like meat (ie duck, beef, goose) cooked with sour cream, while pappardelle is one of the kind of pasta.

To be honest, I think the dish is not too bad, just slightly salty.

I always preferred wide broad flat noodles/pasta over the thin and skinny noodles/pasta, then this pappardelle is even wider than fettuccine which is perfect for me =)

The pappardelle is well cooked, and with chewy but smooth texture (as it is large, it might be overcooked or undercooked), it matched well with the stroganoff, just a little too salty.

The duck is very tender and not too dry, and portion is good enough.

Cheryl get herself crabmeat linguine with garlic and basil, but her comment was the food was normal as she had better pasta.

Indeed I do feel the same, I had much better pasta in NZ, oh well, but actually is kinda not too bad in Malaysia.

Later, we gone to Nana Green Tea for dessert, it was the first time for Cheryl, but second attempt for me.

Nana Green Tea in One U is larger, and have more seats, which save us from lining up.

I guess food is always nice for the first attempt, because this time the parfait I had did not really blew me away like last time.

Perhaps I ordered the wrong parfait, The matcha and rice flour dumpling parfait have larger proportion of vanilla instead of green tea, i found it too sweet in the end.

20150802_144311

But I remembered the matcha fresh chocolate parfait I had last time was not that sweet (maybe also was first attempt).

However, I do think their matcha is very good, and dont mind to visit again in future.

IMG-20150802-WA0000

I do have a good chat with Cheryl, good to know she is doing good with her new job (hope she get confirmed soon), and has a good boyfren (a little bit jealous >< =P), and owns a car, move to a new flat (though with bad owner living under same roof)

As for myside, still busy and struggling if shall stay with job, single, still driving mum's car, and live with parents.

Bright side is, my job is way interesting than hers, I am not bound with anyone and have more freedom (but I still looking for someone), should have a car very soon (hopefully) and seeing family everyday and not need to pay for rent =)

Everyone's life is different, there's no need of comparison or jealousy because we all chose our own path, and I believe destiny will lead us to the way we wish for.

P/s: let's meet up more often cheryl!

I will summarized the foods and desserts I had with Huey Yee, my uni-mate, at where we had gather so far since I back home in this post.

I am grateful that I still have a fren in common for food hunting, studied the same course, interested in R&D field in Malaysia.

Huey Yee is lovely and good listener, I felt sorry sometimes I talked too much and missed what she had been to in her life.

Luckily she is kind and generous, meeting up with her always sound great and fun.

I sincerely thankful she is around, though we are not frequently meeting up, we have endless topic to share, is always exciting to hear what's going on in each other life.

After our first meet up in September last year, we met up in December last year before christmas.

That was also how we planned our Xmas trip to visit wann zhen in our gathering.

We had dinner at K-street cafe which is located at Asian Avenue in Sunway Pyramid. We randomly picked the place as elsewhere are full of people.

Different from other cuisine, this cafe serves more street food which actually cheaper than other Korean cuisine.

Surprisingly, their rabboki which also my first tried was quite good although it looks dull and pathetic.

20141204_191528

I also have the Korean soft drink, Milkis, very creamy =)

20141204_190907

Then, for dessert, we continued our korean meal journey to Cafe Benne, where I had wanted to visit so long ago.

Cafe Benne is an originated Korean cafe, and had opened quite a number of chains in Malaysia.

Their bingsu are too attractive to me, I dint think twice to order myself one.

20141204_201515

This is way too big!!! I would love to share, but ended up I also finished the whole glass, lol =D

Even now, as I am reblogging this, I still smell the sweetness and creamy texture in my mouth!

The greentea bingsu is well served, you may think they are just shaved ice and whipped cream, but in fact, there is green tea ice cream within the cream!!

Topped with red bean paste, and generous quantity of cashew nuts and almonds pieces, together with huge portion of coarse but smooth ice, the combination is irrestitible!!

20141204_201457

Huey Yee ordered another flavor which is the cookies and cream, come in similar size and topped with oreo cookies.

But both of us think this variety is way too sweet, so I will skip this flavor if I have a next visit.

Then after our trip in christmas, both of us were busy with jobs, and finally met each other in March this year.

This time, we had dinner in Pasta Zanmai, because their sister cuisine - Sushi Zanmai still crowded, the line was super long.

img1428144755517

I am really impressed with our giantic appetite, how could 2 of us consumed all these!?

We both ordered a set which comes with a main meal, and complimentary Japanese pizza.

I had the mini teriyaki chicken spagetti with a mini hotate pizza while Huey Yee get herself a Mini Ebi Tempura Gomadare Pasta with Chicken teriyaki pizza.

I still preferred a western spagetti over the Japanese version, but I do enjoy their Japanese style pizza which have a thin crust but topped with generous topping.

We would love to try out their dessert, just we wanna to change the environment as Pasta Zanmai is not cozy enough =P

So we visited Dip n Dip, which is a chocolate themed cafe where serve sinful but yummy chocolate dessert which covers crepe, waffle and drinks.

Their price is not cheap though, but once a while to treat ourselves is not a bad idea.

20150330_204645

I had their famous freezy chocolate cold drink, which personally think is quite expensive and not really that amazing.

But the dessert we ordered - the brownies crepes are real yummy!!

The chocolate is rich, smooth and creamy, sinful looking, but felt amazing having it! Who cares diet?! (in fact I do =.=)

img1427725758969

I am still impressed with our giantic appetite on that night =.=

Finally, just very recently, which was today! I met up with Huey Yee at Empire (finally changed place).

Dinner was not worth to mention, we picked the wrong place to dine in, sigh, should have waited for Rakuzen....

But I felt better as I finally walked in Whisk.

I had been thinking to visit this cafe, but hesitated because I thought they only serve good coffee and red velvet cake, and I am not a fan of both of these.

However today I would like to knock my head hardly, the cafe is not just cozy to enjoy, they serve good ice cream!

How could I forgot they actually selling the last polka ice cream cup?!

Thanks to a post I saw open rice reporting top ten places to get nice macaron, only realized Whisk sell macaron too.

IMG_20150613_084431

But to be honest, I dont think their macaron is good.

I like their macaron flavor because it is not too sweet, but their texture is really soft.

Perhaps some people like this kind of texture, but to me, this is not macaron.

The shell simply just break down while holding it, it is way too fragile.

Moreover, too creamy, the cream just filled up my mouth, and covered up the flavor as well as the macaron shell.

I would not go for another attempt regardless it is actually cheap as compared with other pricy macaron sold in town.

Whereas for ice cream, is my first attempt for last polka.

I have known about this brand of ice cream since I was in NZ, but not many frens around actually knew about it.

They are actually slightly under-rated compared with other well known ice cream like soft srve, inside scoop, milkcow etc out there.

Apparently their brand of ice cream are home made with 100% natural ingredient.

I personally like how they apply the Malaysia flavor into the small cup of ice cream, like pandan kaya, salted gula melaka.

I had the salted gula melaka which is well recommended by the staff, and it is yummy =)

the ice cream is actually very smooth and soft, like gelato but still very creamy, and the salted gula melaka is slightly different from usual salted caramel, the fragrance of the gula melaka is so nice and made me cant stop scooping down until the bottom of the tub.

Just one thing I wish for last polka is get the price reduced, RM9 for one small tub of ice cream is really pricy especially at current stage where Malaysia's economic is having crisis.

Of cause I would love to be a supporter of this local brand, and do respect how the inventors - 2 beautiful, passionate food lovers crafting this professional french style ice cream with their heart. <3

It was my first birthday treat for my brother 3 mths ago who turned 19 this year, wow, what a great number, wish I could go back 19...

oh well, life do not stop for anyone, let's move forward and celebrate!

So i initiated a simple but pricy birthday treats for him, I still claimed myself as a good sister though I sometimes really felt my bro annoying...

20150320_195213

I can tell he was very happy, especially he received other presents from his college frens on his big day.

He used to tell us that his frens did not care about him, they ignored his birthday...

Sigh, social skill is hard for him who is so naive and speak very frankly.

That's why to show my love, I offered him such a fancy meal at Miami Grill, restaurant which was opened by the famous American rapper - PitBull.

20150320_194151

We ordered some tapas, and light meal to be shared, a good idea which we can try various food options.

The restaurants mainly sell western meal like burgers, wings, pitas, fries..etc

We had this pitas which I forgot what was the filling == , but i like the side coleslaw salads.

20150320_195147

and also mozarella cheese stick, very cheesy and thick...

20150320_194648

Then this grilled wings also very nice, I personally quite like buffalo wing sauce, and also like the celery stick but understand most people dont like this two ingredients.

20150320_195730

20150320_205906

Then we gone for dessert at Milk Cow, a Korean premium soft serve ice cream brand which recently brought into Malaysian market.

The kiosk in Sunway Pyramid is the second outlet while the first one was in Mid Valley which attracted huge crowd during its opening.

20150320_205612

9 options provided, with a rather expensive price for soft serve ice cream, as we all know it only cost RM1 for McD soft serve.

Well, it is about Korean wave, marketing tactics, and fancy ideas.

I heard how the honeycomb soft serve was so creamy and yummy, so decided to bring this heavy eater to give a try.

20150320_205705

Frankly speaking, the softserve itself is really authentic, I could taste the milk and cream which is not that sweet and fatty.

However, the honeycomb is way too sweet, and the soft serve itself is so little which I left almost half of the honeycomb but finished the soft serve ice cream.

The concept of the honeycomb with the soft serve indeed tempting, but I would not go for the second try.

20150320_205921

We also ordered this - snowdrop: organic soft serve covered with cotton candy and contains jelly beans underneath.

Sounds fancy and cool, especially the idea of cotton candy in dessert or coffee is getting heat in Malaysia nowadays.

Indeed, the look of the soft serve itself is superb and amazingly presented, but the cotton candy did not melt and became so sticky.

The jelly beans are hard and not match with the cotton candy and soft serve.

It seems like just eating 3 of these ingredients in my mouth at the same time, nothing special except it looks.

Perhaps, I would go for the soft serve only if I need to try again, but the price actually made me considering for the second attempt.

Then if you think that's the end of the celebration, you were wrong.

He is a very lucky boy, who just doesnt know how lucky he is.

We had a family dinner in the weekend in a Korean BBQ house, Todam. I was so surprised dad would willing to eat in a Korean cuisine.

I missed the Korean food I had in NZ so much, always wanna eat Korean meal but frens around are not Korean meal fans.

Luckily this Korean restaurant near my house is not too bad, they have various set menu which we can enjoy various kind of Korean meal at one time.

Entree are refillable! Awesome! Their entree also quite good, I love the black beans and also steamed egg.

20150321_200733

Seafood pancake, my top korean food! Todam's seafood pancake and kimchi pancake considered not too bad especially in Klang, where is hard to find a good Korean cuisine.

20150321_202957

Then here come the main: spicy kimchi hot plate - I think I can have so much rice to eat with this, well done.

20150321_201816

Actually we had gone Todam a few times after our first attempt for my brother birthday.

So far, it is a good dinner option during weekend, and their food portion is huge and can be shared among frens and family.

Overall the standard of the meal is not bad, and I am grateful already with such korean cuisine in Klang.

Once again, happy birthday little brother. Smile always =)

It was early January this year, when I finally got to meet up with Ping and Natasya after like 4 years!

The last time we met each others perhaps was in 2010, then I moved to North Island while Ping and Nat gone back Malaysia for working life.

But I never got to meet them since back home in 2013, I did chat with Nat via facebook PM or whatapps, just rarely with Ping (dint even gt her number).

So thanks for Nat's initiative, we finally got to catch up after so long! Just shame that we did not take a usie or group photo!

How could we miss it?! Especially the paper pandas attacking Publika!!

The worldwide tour of the pandas for promoting and educating the environmental conservation and sustainable development (also animal welfare) finally arrived Malaysia after touring in a few countries like Italy, Netherland, HK, Taiwan etc.

 20150117_161641 20150117_122334

There are 1600 pandas in total!! They were made by recycled paper (yes you get me right) by a French artist, Paulo Grangeon, in collaboration with WWF for this ongoing meaningful exhibition worldwide.

These pandas had been paraded in Dataran Merdeka, Pinang....(15 places in total), and finally displayed in Publika, the last pit stop for almost 2 wks.

I admitted that I chose Publika as a meeting point for a reason =P

Yes, I finally gone to Publika after looking forward to visit this popular check-in place for teenagers in Malaysia at the moment for a few months...

Open rice, rakyat post, eat drink KL blogs had been highly promoting cafes or cuisines in Publika, tho my colleague was commenting the food might be over-rated (which I would not doubt) but as a foodie, I still wish to pay a visit.

Nat and I met earlier at the KL central, and her brother fetch us to Publika.

I was thinking to drive there initially but I was hesistate to do so as I never drive to KL area and really worried about using GPS while driving.

Thanks for Nat's kindness for offering me a seat in her brother's car, and her funny brother even fetched me to home all the way from KL to Klang!

Nat and I reached Publika earlier while Ping met us after finished work (thankful I am not working on Sat), hence we took the opportunity to choose places for lunch.

There were plenty of cafes to choose....eventually I chose The Red Bean Bag based on the ranking recommendation on Open rice

Guess what, there's already a long queue when we arrived around 12.40pm! We waited for almost an hour for a table.

20150117_123617

This was the "number" I got, felt like dining in a government department, take turns just to eat lunch...

I ordered the Signature baked egg because I seldom see this kind of dish in a western menu (even in NZ, or maybe I was not aware).

 20150117_133648

The egg was runny and flow over the hot pot which was really sastifying, but I was kinda dissapointed when found out the "meat" underneath was a lamb sausage rather than chunked steak or pulled meat.

20150117_133937

The texture of sausage under the baked egg with cheese is not matched, and personally, I really think the sausage idea spoiled the dish.

However, flavor of the dish itself was well done, just I am really picky with the texture.

Ping was only able to catch us for dessert, but Publika was getting crowded after lunch especially the pandas exhibition attracted more crowds to the place.

20150117_122343

Each panda is different!! 1600 different looks! Unbelievable, no wonder everyone was queueing for a photo...

We were not able to get a seat in every dessert point we planned to drop by (Salon Du Chocolat, Namoo, Mad about coco, Swich cafe etc), eventually we only took away a slice of pricy and fancy cake at the Switch cafe (which is also ranked in the top ten eateries in open rice)

Swich cafe is famous with their unique combination on bakings, I was tempting to buy their infamous mangosteen or cempedak cake which was super amazing just hearing the names...but they were sold out and we had to wait for 30mins to get them baked and re-displayed in their kiosk.

Therefore I took the remaining, which was the last cake - The Aphrodite - gula malacca based sponge cake embedded with FIGS, and topped with strawberries, blueberries, and ....POMEGRANATES!

 15607073489_2efb427380_c

What a unique combination! I never think of using figs and pomegranates together, especially in a cake!

The taste was very good, flavor was rounded and the sticky figs within each layers just brought up a new sensation on my taste bud! Pomegranates on top are juicy, and the watery texture balanced the sweet gula malacca based sponge.

It worthed RM13.90, but I guess it is for effort of creating this wonderful piece of art and taste using the fresh and quality ingredients (I hope, finger-crossed).

Nat bought their durian mud cake which was really attractive as well, but I am not interested with durian flavored products, tho I am a durian lover.

Anyways, we got to meet up and chit chat for almost 2 hrs, it is good to know everyone is doing good and move forward in life.

Guess we just need another catch up for another group photo

After bean birthday, it was the turn for chyi's birthday catch up!

Too bad, she couldnt make it at last minute....@@, but the rest of us still meet up at the meeting point - Oh scooter cafe~

20150308_133749

Tho we were missing chyi, but cheen was able to join us! She even fetched me all the way from home to the cafe.

Moreover, we rarely meet at place further than Klang area, so good job we finally made a move!

IMG-20150308-WA0000

As selfie is getting very popular nowadays especially in Asia, but I was not really into selfie, not even mention usie....

That's why you rarely see I took selfie, main reason was I am not very confident with taking a good photo of myself, and I even low esteemed when need to take a group photo with a bunch of fren with good looking and pose....=(

But I was the one who holding the selfie stick for this group photo, and somehow it was not too bad even my face was the closest to the lens while compared to my frens behind me who were far away from the lens...

Alright back to this cafe at USJ, it had been famous with its cotton candy in the cup which is this:

Thursever-002

# picture taken from eat drink KL blog.

None of us ordered this special coffee as the person who interested with it was absent (chyi), but we still ordered other drinks which were not too bad.

20150308_134236

I had this iced chocolate which is quite rich accompanied with a beef panini called Taz-mania~

20150308_140931

The last time I had panini was at St. Clair beach at Dunedin, NZ, 2010...phew, it was 5 yrs ago!

I remembered that panini was using ciabiata bread, rather than this normal bun at scooter cafe.

So I decided to google for panini (as what foodie usually does), apparently panini is a grilled sandwich made from bread other than sliced bread.

Which means this panini is not really a panini because it was not even grilled~ == (perhaps they only tosted it)

I guess the cafe owner just like to have a good name, oh well, let's forget about it.

Somehow the "fries" which come together with the sandwich was fried pastry strips which was crispy and smell nice.

The claimed grilled sirloin steak was very thin, and little....so as the mushroom....hmmm, RM21.90, I would not have the second time (that's my feedback).

Actually the cafe have very little options for food, we only have 3 options: beef panini, chicken panini, and vegetarian panini. ==

All of my frens have the "red riding hood" - chicken panini:

IMG-20150308-WA0001

That's why it named "red riding hood"....but I am interested with the side salad - pomegranate, dragon ball fruit (LMAO), and forgot what's underneath...

IMG-20150308-WA0006

IMG-20150308-WA0004

Just like the cafe named, the interior was scooters themed, you can even ride on it.

IMG-20150308-WA0002

I dint, but my fren did:

20150308_134054

Apparently they also have free coffee grounds to take away, I should have take 1 bag of it because I just found they were quite useful: see link here

20150308_133609

Coffee grounds even can be used to make a body or facial scrubs! genius!

Just as their menu, the cakes options were not very attractive either, but we decided to get some to continue our gathering time here

20150308_133809

And these were what we had:

IMG-20150308-WA0007

I actually forgot what we had ordered even tho I still save these photos....==, somehow means their slices were not memorable in terms of taste.

Overall, good catch up, good cafe enviroment to hang out but tastes were just alright, (no comment on coffee tho).

Haha, this was like January this year, I have lots of blog entries need to be updated yet.

Bean's birthday was one of it....lol

IMG-20150109-WA0017

I still remember she actually wished to celebrate her birthday at the mamak stalls which was opposed by everyone.

But that's the birthday girl wish right? well, ended up we went to our favourite place - sherpherdoo again.

IMG-20150109-WA0014

I was the first person to arrive, and reserved a place inside the restaurant (because we always sat outdoor).

somehow we (I mean this gang) have a regular (but not fixed) catch up once in a while since we travelled to redang last year.

It was all started from the whatapps group (with a lame name =P), then we started to meet up for dinner or so on.

IMG-20150109-WA0012

Girls only group (yes, dont doubt, that's the name): me, bean, chyi, teng, bee, peng and mei.

20150109_205400

And this was what I had that night, well overall sherpherdoo considered a good place for western cuisine in Klang area, price was reasonable as it come with good portion size. Besides, the only time I could enjoy cocktail in Malaysia is when at sherpherdoo, too bad their cocktail was not very impressive as what I had before.

Anyways, happy birthday bean =)

Come to think about it, actually our department did not have much events compared to others

Well, this marked the previous and only outing so precious, lol

Moreover, this outing is not a random one, is for Hajar, my ex-colleague, who had gone to NZ for studying now.

IMG-20141030-WA0018

We had Korean dinner at Dubu Dubu, meal were rather big and cheap when compared with other korean cuisine tho taste was just so so.

IMG-20141030-WA0017

But it is about the gathering moments rather than food, thus we picked korean because Ching Yee had just back from Korea trip that time.

It was fun to share her Korean experience while having korean meal. =)

And looks what she bought for us!

IMG-20141030-WA0007

Mine is the blue one, with a heart. <3 I liked it a lot, and used to wear it a lot these days.

IMG-20141030-WA0013

We gone to Library cafe for dessert after our dinner, where just recently opened by that time.

It is a cozy and relaxing place to chill out with frens and colleagues, and we hang out there until the mall closed!

20141029_21180520141027_132541

We ordered this special dessert: Banana chocolate wontons, it was not cheap, but it was good!

The pastry is so crispy, and it matched well with the sweet and warm banana filling within.

20141029_212718

and I find it hillarious how the receipt described the wonton:

20141029_213414

The second one: Bababa Chocolate, it just reminds me of How minions described banana~

LOLLLL!!

I also ordered a double chocolate drink which was so "coco" (lol, my special description) while Ching Yee ordered her favorite matcha drink (she so into matcha)

20141029_212428

(Hajar just like to get attention! @@)

The cafe and coffee culture started booming in Malaysia, you can find cozy, fancy cafe in every single corner of shopping mall and shop lots opposite street.

WHen i said cafe, I do not mean starbucks or coffee beans, but those new, non-chained cafes with youngsters sitting around.

Tho I am not a coffee drinker, I have enjoyed visiting cafes since living in NZ, so I wouldnt miss out the chance to explore new cafes back home.

However, I felt the drinks or desserts are somehow overpriced, and they were over-rated by the social media or blogs.

So there's pro and cons, have to pick a great one while visiting those popular cafes in Malaysia.

Anyways, Library cafe is still considered good (but pricy) for a visit, and we did have a good time.

 IMG-20141019-WA0000

I was naming this post "fresco reunion" at first but unfortunately huey yee couldnt join us for this time, and yong wah is here....so, is Dunner's reunion then!

p/s: Dunner= people from Dunedin~ =P

Glad that I got to catch up with 2 of my dearest frens from NZ within this week.

The date had been scheduled since Sze told me her returning date while she still busy with her phd progress at Dunedin.

Finally, this day has come =)

Similar as Mid Valley, this is my first time visiting Suria KLCC after so long.

Somehow, I think this mall had transformed into a very high class building, but dad kept saying it is still the same....high standard...=S

Looks like is either I had down graded or I was not sensitive with the price tag before I started working then.

oh well, window shopping is still fun, especially together with my lovely girls~

Yong Wah shared a lot of her skin care tips with me this afternoon, appreciated this! You know, sometimes, girls jealous and afraid to share =-=

We were exploring different skin care and make up products at the mall, had great fun and learnt more knowledges =)

It would be better if I had chosen to wear a flat rather than my nude heels which made my leg cramp =(

 20141019_132421

We did stop for drinks at Coffee Bean. I had a ice blended named Malibu dream - Fresh Strawberry Banana juice and French Deluxe™vanilla blended with ice

Just realized it contains lot of sugar =S when I searched their nutrition facts online....alright, once in a long time...

Well, I had long time missing out ice blended as I am no longer in NZ where they are accessible and considered cheap. =)

Oh, we also stop for waffle!! This is actually my intention too, because they looked so yummy!!

 20141019_150042

Similar as those ice blended drinks, I miss the waffle or croissant served with chocolate sauce in NZ.

These waffles we got from Wafflemeister were claimed as home made Belgium waffles, and is the only chained store in Asia!

Originally from UK, and is expanding internationally starting from Arab, then now Malaysia.

Sze was sharing her delicious experience with the frozen Belgium waffle which Indra (my lecturer too) bought from UK all the way to NZ.

The way she described how the sugar granula melted and popped while she microwaved the frozen waffle and how tasty it was made us crave for it when we passed by this store.

So, nothing hold us back from trying these waffles even there were no empty seats!

But we got 2 seats very soon, and enjoyed 2 different varieties of waffle.

20141019_150017

an original one, and another with chocolate sauce and pistachio ice cream! (you can pick your favourite from a variety of different flavors)

The cold ice cream matched perfectly with our hot and crunchy waffle. The chocolate sauce is marvelous~

I reckon the waffle with the chocolate sauce is an indulgence, and we actually picked the wrong flavor.

Pistachio ice cream itself is good, but just doesn't match with the waffle. But ice cream definitely goes perfect with these waffles.

Tho sze were saying the waffle Indra bought it greater, but we are at limited Malaysia land, and I am sastified with what I had today =)

After separating with Sze and Yong Wah, I joined mum and dad at the Japan fair hold by Isetan.

I spent nearly 100 bucks for just Japanese snacks! You can see how low is Malaysia's currency....I could get all I bought today probably around or less than 40 bucks in NZ.

Well, accept the fact that I am here now and no looking back.. I dont mind spending when it come to food.

See what I have~

 20141019_173154

Brother was complaining how cruel were Japanese killing these little cute baby crabs before they growing up.

Yes, it is very sad to roast them all before they grew up just to satisfy the need of gluttonous yet novel taste of Japanese market.

The nutrition label revealed the Calcium content of this packet is 11200mg!!! OMG, why shall we drink milk then?

However, I guess not many people could afford this pricy Japanese snack and they are not sadistic to take down these cute creatures.

Even myself would just paid for this time for a first try...the concept just similar as the fin, they would stop killing if we stop eating.

If you are asking me for the taste, my comment is they would pair up well with beer....no wonder Japanese come with these creative idea to make them into snack~

That's not what I got, I also paid for these:

 img1414236970500

I knew Japanese is good on wrapping things up, but why I felt pathetic when I unwrap my green tea snack?

This leafy snack is very soft and crispy, the matcha cream lies within is not too sweet, and with slightly bitterness.

I took like one per day, it would last me for 12 days... hmmm...

Then I also got cheated by this:

 20141101_223131

I thought it was a sakura flavored mochi...but they just shared the same shape.

Marshmellow.....I bought for RM10+ for this stupid red bean paste filling MARSHMELLOW...Let's make premium hot chocolate then. =o=
