Come to the last part of my birthday celebration, this year is also a blessing year for me as there are a lot of important ppl surrounding.

I met up with Carlyn and she treated this nice porky meal =P

IMG_3007.JPG

But i think the patty is a bit dry somehow, but glad to have porky western meal in Klang valley tho~

IMG_3009.JPG

Glad to meet you again~

IMG_3010.JPG

I also got myself some stationery stuff at Daiso~

IMG_3025.JPG

Then i have another meet up with Yen at Beyond veggie, didnt know beyond veggie have so many varieties when come to vegan meal.

IMG_3028.JPG

IMG_3029.JPG

I like their pizza, surprisingly yummy~

IMG_3030.JPG

It was at Bangsar Nesus, following the lunch we spent a good time at Thirdwave cafe.

I like the quote decor on the wall so much.

IMG_3031.JPG

IMG_3034.JPG

Also like their ice cream sandwich, the portion is quite big, it is advisable to let the ice cream slightly melted as it is frozen and a bit hard to bite.

I still remember how the staff showed me the way to bite it, so cute.

IMG_3038.JPG

Then at workplace, i also have tried out Shell out for the first time~

IMG_3166.JPG

Of course i did not miss out my high school friends who always there for me. We have steamboat!

IMG_3096.JPG

Yimei brought this from TsingTao, is alcoholic chocolate, i like the design, so cute.

Then we have 2 types of soup for the steamboat.

IMG_3097.JPG

IMG_3098.JPG

Actually there are 3 ppl bday this time, including myself, KC and Yimei's fiance.

IMG_6375.JPG

IMG_6385.JPG

Thanks guys~

Last but not the least, the same group of people meeting up for another BBQ session~

IMG_3174.JPG

I also have received many good stuffs this year:

IMG_3089.JPG

Got my taobao items after so long~

IMG_3090.JPG

This ice cream shaped cable protector is so cute XD

TSSV9095.JPG

Then this time for the present from colleagues which i got to pick, i chose this...tbh, this is not really what i want, to be specific, i am not sure what i really want.

This is a steamer then can cook simple meal by using steam, but come to think of that, i should have chosen the travel cushion from MUJI which is more practical for me.

I mean how often i will cook and buy grocerries? ==

Bday celebration continued with more eating events...weeeeee!

Gina had asked for a drinking event on last Friday night, it was my first vist at The Social.

IMG_2876.JPG

The calamari fritter is so juicy and yummy, escargot was ok, i guess i am not really a fan of it.

IMG_2877.JPG

Pizza also was not too bad, whereas the spagetti was just ok.

IMG_2879.JPG

Following the next day, which is the day prior to my big day, I had asked my bestie, Bean to accompany me for the whole day XD.

Thanks her so much, always being with me on this special day.

We went to Aka cafe at Taman Desa, a place i have longing for quite sometime.

I love the homemade Japanese feel the owner create, and all their meals are so abdorable.

IMG_2887.JPG

I ordered the taro ice ball as my starter too, it is a taro flavored ice ball, then served with a small bottle of milk, as well as taro drink.

Is all your choice to either pour in more milk or the taro drink, honestly i like the idea of how this dessert/drink to be served, but there is a metalic taste in the drink, not sure is it because their water source is not very clean or just something gone wrong. If without that metalic taste, this dessert would be ranked batter.

IMG_2891.JPG

Compared with the main meal i ordered, i actually prefer what's bean ordered. The tempura prawn is yummy, i like the coating although it is slightly burnt.

IMG_2899.JPG

Myself have ordered this salmon ochazuke, it had been a long while since my last time i had this. I used to make this dish when i was in NZ but never really have one in a restaurant.

AJMJ7443.JPG

Not deny they really very heartful when come with the food presentation, so hard to eat them!

However, when it come to taste, i think it was just alright, perhaps there's nothing can be special for this dish?

We never forgot the dessert, have this rainbow mochi without doubt.

HBAG0703.JPG

Well, it was ok...i think for wagashi, perhaps i shall just go Japan to have them lol.

IMG_2902.JPG

After lunch, Bean and I went to mid valley for movie, we watch Jonny English this round as I have the free bday coupon.

That movie was just so so, i dont really fancy of this kind of british joke, but just take it as entertainment since it is free.

Then, dinner was at Antipodean, had big breakfast here for few times, but this round when comes to their dinner, i think there are other better options.

IMG_2908.JPG

Bean knows me very well, she knew i would love to have dessert again, i am a bit overwhelmed with calories that Saturday, we gone in Kakigori without second thought.

IMG_2911.JPG

Kakigori is also one of the list that i always wish to go, i love to try their kakigori, but bean couldnt eat much as she is not comfortable with the cold ice that day.

So we only have soft serve with mochi, it was ok, perhaps they are doing great in other stuffs. I would love to visit again next time.

On my big day, i didnt do much in the day but do went for dinner with my family, have korean meal at Myung Ga, also another korean restaurant where I heard for sometime but never try.

IMG_2921.JPG

Food was a bit heavy when come in taste, but portion indeed big, so as the price. Personally, I think there are other better korean cuisine in Klang valley though.

IMG_2923.JPG

Then last night Wei asked me out for bday celebration at Bukku cafe, also somewhere new for me. lol

IMG_2977.JPG

This place is decorated well, very instagrammable!

IMG_2980.JPG

Their cakes are not bad, but when come to the mains food, options are quite limited.

IMG_2981.JPG

Since when we had photo together? Perhaps the last shot was 10 yrs ago~

IMG_2987.JPG

IMG_2988.JPG

JUst like how the cafe named, there is a rack of books for ppl to borrow and read, Wei actually had secretly brought one out lol.

IMG_2989.JPG

IMG_2990.JPG

IMG_2993.JPG

Food at bukku cafe was overall just alright, but having such beautiful cafe in Klang is a bless.

And then it is tonight, i went out for cafe hopping again, this time is with Huey Yee, my long known Uni course mate.

I chose 95 degree art cafe at SS15, cant really think of many places nowadays lol.

IMG_3001.JPG

Huey Yee actually ordered the wrong meal for me, but it was ok, food taste wise was just so so, but there are many varieties when come to the type of meal.

IMG_3002.JPG

We continued dessert at Fat Baby ice cream, also a dessert place that i wished to try for some time, but the place is really packed and loud, perhaps because it is a student area.

WQPN3634.JPG

I do think inside scoop serve similar qualities of ice cream as fat baby, but inside scoop have much cozy ambient and friendly staffs.

That's all for the second part, 3rd and 4th are coming XD.

IMG_8865.JPG

IMG_8871.JPG

INRO3530.JPG

Then I also have steamboat session with colleagues.

IMG_0990.JPG

IMG_0987.JPG

this village steamboat is famous at Puchong, they also have bbq at the side~ yummy~

IMG_0989.JPG

then i recently also found out putien is actually michilin stars, and i went to taste as well, but i think food there is just so so.

IMG_0995.JPG

The sweet potato tongshui was also just ok.

Next Yonghan wedding fall in this month too, indeed lots of occasions~

IMG_1003.JPG

Klang parade dynasty dragon seafood restaurant did have generous portion size of food, but taste was just alright.

IMG_2167.JPG

IMG_2172.JPG

Somehow I got caught~

We also celebrated dad bday this month at Morganfield again~ lol

IMG_1017.JPG

Time flies, is June now and I ald have so much feast in the begining of the month!

First of all, is the Germini group event again, most of my classmates who i close to are Germini and this month is their month as well.

We picked BBQ Thai for the venue this time, have yummy Thai meal~

AKWJ3591.JPG

This platter consist of not bad meat but indeed way too small.

IMG_0730.JPG

This is an oyster omelette! Omg this is really instagrammable~

RLSP9288.JPG

This curry fish also very yummy although it is quite spicy~

WHHS9436.JPG

The squid was just alright.

IMG_0757.JPG

Their red ruby dessert, my favourite!

This year cake were just custom made cupcake using fondant, nothing special plus no one eat the fondant.

IMG_0741.JPG

Just my personal opinion, this is the main reason i am not fancy about cupcake, to me, they are just decor, and as what i guess, the cake itself was tasteless and dry. I didnt eat at all, maybe because I also can easily get them at my workplace and i really not appreciating them ==. Though the baker may have put lots of effort on decorating the cake with the fondant, i do think he/she shall focus on the cake itself too.

IMG_8027.JPG

IMG_8031.JPG

Well as long as the others were happy with them, it's ok, plus the highlight is not the cake, is about the time we were celebrating together~

Back to work, recently the kitchen have many fancy desserts~ This could easily kill the cupcakes above lol.

IMG_0796.JPG

IMG_0798.JPG

IMG_0799.JPG

I also have dinner with Huey Yee last Friday at Cerdito, the food was surprisingly yummy!

HJJY8824.JPG

This was what I had - Pineapple maple pork belly, portion not really big, but i like how the pork belly was marinated with pineapple and maple syrup, it was very refreshing and the meat is juicy.

The pork belly is cut in a good thick size and grilled well done, this is so far the best pork dish i had this year.

IMG_0818.JPG

Crispy pork skin salad as entree was just ok.

IMG_0821.JPG

Huey Yee picked the pork rib, not outstanding but still taste good, the pork is tender and quite meaty.

Their dessert was the best of all!

we dunno what would be served as we picked the 3 course set come with dessert of the day, not like most restaurant that fool consumer with ice cream or simple dessert, they really well prepared and heartful when come to dessert. Guess what? We were served with 2 different dessert!

IMG_0823.JPG

When the deconstructed lemon tart was served, we really have no idea how to eat, the staff told us to knock it but the outcome, hmm is not what we expected.

however, the lemon tart still taste great~

The Belgium dark chocolate semi freddo won the best of the night!

IMG_0824.JPG

the dark chocolate mousse was so yummy, not too sweet, and very chocolate-ty, with hint of bitterness, i think even guy will love it.

That's my temporary sum-up for the meal on June, recently just eat way too much lol

Here come my final part of birthday celebration, same as last year, there are many lovely friends want to welcome my big day this year.

On Friday night, I went out with Pek Shan and Pei Ling, PS decided to treat me for my birthday although she was the one who picked the dining place. ==

We had dinner at Sushi Zanmai, luckily not many people tonight because usually this place is packed.

IMG_4466.JPG

I had the mini katsu chicken don, but portion actually quite big. Reason having mini was because we would have dessert too =D

At first, PS want to have Nadeje, but Pei Ling and I preferred to try out the new dessert kiosk that just recently opened - Kiss the Tiramisu.

Originated from Korea, it is tiramisu inspired ice cream, which i had been known for more than a year ago, but never have chance to try out.

Pei Ling was teasing me why dont want to try in Korea, well, that was because there are too many food i wished to try in Korea!

Moreover, who knows if i had chance to have this dessert in Korea.

IMG_4472.JPG

Tada, we picked the orighinal flavor, the tiramisu flavor, RM16.90 for one cup indeed is expensive.

Taste was quite good, very milky, and not too sweet. The ice cream is very smooth, and not too creamy.

IMG_4494.JPG

Top is vanilla ice cream, dusted with chocolate powder, then middle is cream and the sponge finger sprinkles.

It was suggested to mix the ice cream together with the cream and sponge finger once eating up to half cup of the dessert, but PS did not want it to be mixed, and ended up was so creamy.

Anyway, it is a good dessert =D

IMG_4486.JPG

Thanks girls =)

Then today, i had another gathering with Karen at Soft Launch cafe.

Another cafe bucket list was ticked, hehe =)

Since I went to Tiny Tempteress on my birthday, i started to explore Sri Petaling and only realized it was so expensive to drive there from my house ==

Well, I was not driving last time, plus we were departing from KL that time. I had to went through 3 tolls which costed me RM6 in one way! @@

Moreover, need to park at the high rated parking building which was another extra expenses....Sri Petaling indeed costly~

Soft serve, i think is another cafe which was over rated...again...=-=

I was so looking forward for the waffle here, cz you can tell it is a cafe specialty on waffle, so you have be good in doing waffle with receiving such high rating on mostly all foodie website/apps.

Cafe interior was not bad, got many inspiring quotes board hanging on the wall.

IMG_4526.JPG

IMG_4528.JPG

Both Karen and I shared one savoury waffle and pasta.

For waffle, we ordered the fried chicken waffle simply because the fried chicken in the photo was really attractive.

IMG_4531.JPG

Unfortunately, the waffle was dissapointing, very soft, not crunchy at all. Maybe some people prefer soft waffle, but I am a waffle mania, i really particular when come with waffle (you sure just waffle? XD)

In my opinion, a good waffle must be crispy but not hard on the outside and soft but not gooey or too chewy in the inside.

To me, this waffle was also very blend, same goes with the chicken. I love the tenderness, and crispiness of the chicken, and very fresh, but it was not marinated enough, was kinda tasteless.

On the other hand, for the miso pasta which is seems very unique to be seen was really awful.

IMG_4530.JPG

Maybe the chef is ambitious to create such a fushion of pasta using Japanese ingredient, which is also not something very new, but his skill definitely need to be improved.

The taste was really blend, and it was a struggling to finish the whole plate.

Luckily their dessert was not dissapointing, we called for ice cream instead of their signature waffle range dessert because the savoury waffle was already a dissapointment.

Today special on their dessert is the  roasted soybean flavor, and we were very satisfied with it.

IMG_4532.JPG

The roasted soybean flavor is quite rich and natural, and not too sweet. Maybe the cafe is just skillful in dessert lol.

Oh well, i wouldnt complain much because i got treated for today's meal too, thanks Karen =)

Alright, moving to vol 3, had another celebration - well just simple dinner and gathering with my ex-colleagues at Chicken Up, SS15 last night, and tonight with my colleagues at Sushi King, Sunway Pyramid.

Kinda irony as I was dining with the ex- and current work mates, hehe.

Derrick picked Chicken up, which actually screwed my plan which initially i wanna go to Empire Damansara for other cafe hopping because he got trial tomorrow morning.

Sigh, still grateful that i had escaped from the mad world. Truly enjoy my work life balance now. =D

Look what we had last night, i always want to try chicken up, but conclusion is still the same, OVER-RATED~

IMG_4334.JPG

Bulgogi fries was not that creative as i thought, simply mixing the beef slices with mayo and topped on the fries. Big portion though but i think is quite pricy for fries.

IMG_4337.JPG

This spicy seafood noodles soup recommended by Derrick was a disaster, the noodles was so soggy and the broth just taste like instant noodle broth. Overpriced and really disgusting.

We come with a conclusion that Derrick really has bad taste lol.

IMG_4340.JPG

Chicken was not up to the standard I expected, surprised that the size is not small, but the taste was just alright for the Yangnyum chicken, but for the spicy Yangnyum was really dissastifying.

Thankful the plastic gloves were provided, because the spciy yangnyum sauce was just like coating the chicken itself, is everywhere, super messy, and personally i think the sauce was too sweet, spiciness not really that obvious.

IMG_4342.JPG

Only thing pleased me last night perhaps was the watermelon bingsu, at least the melon was fresh, and i like the milkiness of the taste. However, like what i told wai ee and derrick, the best bingsu was just at the opposite of Chicken Up - Hangbing Bingsu.=P.

Last night reunion was quite short and rush, blame Macfood. Otherwise, we would get something better and talked further. It will be next time then.

Move on to the dinner i had today with my colleagues, it was not just about me, also celebrating the October birthdays for Su and Nancy.

Sushi King at Pyramid was chosen, (THANK GOD!), which even convenient and easy to kill time. This time some sales team member also joined us.

IMG_4352.JPG

Food was just alright, let's the photo describe the happy night.

IMG_4359.JPG

I also got to buy Japanese ice cream after the meal, but the sesame ice cream i picked was not nice =( But i discovered one Japanese ice cream which was so good and chocolate-ty! Thanks to SIti.

That's all for now, once again, thanks for celebrating my 30th big day =S

After yesterday full day celebration with bean, i had the belated celebration today with my family.

Lunch venue was proposed by me, lol, cz brother said it is my birthday lunch.

So I finally brought them to Mr Dalgakbi, I had tried out this korean cuisine for 3 times, and finally able to let my family experience it.

IMG_4193.JPG

Glad that they love it, though they still think the price aint cheap. Oh well...

We had the normal pan grilled chicken set for 3 pax and bulgogi set for 2 pax.

IMG_4194.JPG

IMG_4196.JPG

IMG_4197.JPG

I also topped up a korean seafood pancake.

IMG_4195.JPG

Overall, i think Mr. Dalgakbi have good standard, because this branch at Citta mall also in the same quality standard as in Setia City mall.

Then tonight, i finally decided to cut the cake!

I actually bought the famous Durian cake from Moonlight cake house, tada!!

IMG_4114.JPG

IMG_4117.JPG

So real! So well decorated~ Really impressed with the skill of the baker, such a precise artwork!

I was so careful when bringing this fragile cake home from Puchong all the way back home, this 500g cake cost me RM99!!which is super expensive!

Ok is time!

IMG_4204.JPG

IMG_4205.JPG

Loey was so excited to have cake, she finally had reach the time of loving in cake and ice cream~

She actually accidentally touched the cream on top, but luckily she didnt destroy the cake before i started to cut.

IMG_4202.JPG

Actually the cream portion is more than the cake itself, and i actually didnt eat the cream because i am no longer a cream person anymore.

I think cream is too fatty but i dont mind their existence, lol.

Overall i think the cake is quite yummy, but i wouldnt buy for the 2nd time because it is way too expensive, I still think it is nice, but not really wow~ If it is not that pricy, yeah maybe i will still buy it.

IMG_4115.JPG

Anyway, i am happy that i finally able to try it =)

Finally this day had arrived, being the age of 30.

My feeling was a bit complicated recently, people around me were teasing me, counting down for me, reminding my new chapter of life ==

oh well, i was planning to have something on this big day, at first was thinking to spend this day by my own, maybe go to museum or do something that i never did.

However, i kinda felt the loneliness after thinking about the plan, so i decided to ask bean out.

It is getting harder to ask her out since she gone into a relationship, i was so guilty to do so, but since it was my big day, i would just like to be a little self fish. =P

Moreover, i had long time didnt go out with her, or asked her out for dinner, the last time i met her for dinner also was her call.

So, thankful that she said yes and her boyfriend was busy today == somehow I felt like i am losing a bestie. =S

Oh well, let me just enjoy my special day~

All meals and activities was based on my preference, i initiated to go Breadfruit at Sri Hartamas for brunch, i always want to try out this popular cafe.

IMG_4124.JPG

I got myself the brunch pasta with 7mins egg, first time see people placing the whole egg with shell on pasta. More creative was they use this kind of medium boiled egg to apply with pasta.

The combination was unique, making the pasta more slippery, but in terms of taste i think it did not have added much top note.

Honestly, i like their pasta, this is a well done pasta that i acknowledged in Malaysia so far i had, not too soggy or hard, and the carbonara sauce taste was just alright, not too salty.

Breadfruit actually is selling a healthy concept, insisting the use of natural and healthy food ingredients, with no MSG added.

So after finishing the whole pasta, i never drink the juice i ordered at all, meaning that they did not put MSG in the food.

I also love their mushroom, so delicious, just hope that there would be more bacon.

IMG_4122.JPG

Bean picked the BLT avocado guacamole sandwich, personally i think the taste was just so so. Perhaps not a recommend dish.

But their menu have a full selection of choices from sandwich, breakfast ranges to pasta and also burger.

I am pretty sure i would come back again, just not sure when lol.

Another thing that i want to compliment is the juice, saw many reviews on zomato saying Breadfruits serve good refreshing fruit juice, so i ordered a cucumber cooler, blended with cucumber, watermelon, pear and apple.

IMG_4126.JPG

I actually like cucumber drink, i think it is refreshing =D But many people maybe dont like the grassy taste of cucumber, however, cucumber cooler has very mild cucumber taste, or i shall say the watermelon taste is more strong. I love this juice, not too sweet, and can feel very natural and healthy =) I think with the price of RM11 per such a big glass is very reasonable, much better and worthy than the rainbow shot in Aether cafe.

After brunch, continued my plan to have dessert at Tiny Temptress Artisan Patisserie at Sri Petaling. Really thank you Bean for being the driver today, i never dare to drive to Sri Hartamas or Sri Petaling by my own, but after today, i think shall be no issue. (I actually ald drove to Sri Hartamas before for Cheryl wedding).

IMG_4141.JPG

Look at the door, the door holder is a whisker ^^

IMG_4127.JPG

IMG_4128.JPG

IMG_4140.JPG

The cafe is very tiny, and very girly interior.

I knew about this dessert place this year through instagram, their desserts were so cute that i decided to come to have a high tea.

Actually their patisserie was very pricy, and all looks great. The shop keeper was such a cute lady, with her little and sweet voice introducing us the dessert ranges.

IMG_4130.JPG

IMG_4132.JPG

IMG_4133.JPG

IMG_4135.JPG

In the end we ordered the unicorn look tiramisu, bear look macaron and strawberry tart, served with tea and latte (for bean).

IMG_4137.JPG

IMG_4138.JPG

The tiramisu is just have a cute appearance, but taste was actually not good, flavor was not rounded, the caramel layer is so hard at the bottom, and was detached from the cake after we tried to cut it to eat together with the other layers.

IMG_4136.JPG

Strawberry tart on the other hand is much better, but also not really something that i would return for. It is just more acceptable than the unicorn tiramisu.

For the macaron, overpriced is my conclusion. RM8 for 1 piece macaron is a ripped off, only thing that attractive is just the cute bear look.

IMG_4139.JPG

I had the passion fruit one, according to the shop keeper is less sweet, but i think it is still sweet. However, i am a fan of macaron and i dont mind it sweet, because it shall be.

But i really dissapointed upon biting it, cz it is not hard crunch at the outer shell, it is so soggy and sticky. @@.

They are having high tea set starting from October, at first i really wanna ask Karen to come again, but i think now i would try other dessert place.

After dessert, we watched a movie at Paradigm mall to kill time, before heading to the moon cake festival event tonight.

The event was hosted by Herbaline, with RM12 entrance fee, we can access the event and have food for free, also watching some special show arranged tonight.

Basically i didnt spend a peny because i got free ticket thanks to bean, her boyfriend works at Herbaline ==

The movie we watching was <Tag Along 2>, check out the review on my other post over here.

After the movie, we had dinner first before heading to Kota Kemuning for the event.

I thought Paradigm have good Japanese food cuisine but i was wrong, Bean opposed Pasta Zamai, and Sushi Zamai was having long queue, so ended up we gone to Franco.

But it was a huge dissapointment, both Bean's pasta and my squid rissotto was so awful! Is like showered with salt, super salty!

IMG_4143.JPG

Never thought the branch at Paradigm was so bad, no wonder there is not many customer in dinner peak time on Saturday night!

Then, we gone to Kota Kemuning Herbaline HQ for the fun night.

IMG_4148.JPG

IMG_4150.JPG

IMG_4152.JPG

IMG_4172.JPG

IMG_4189.JPG

Got chop at the entrance access.

There are so many food stalls, and all are free!!! I also got a free lantern and ice cream drumstick upon arrival.

Quite many people here, and there is stage performance on going.

IMG_4183.JPG

IMG_4184.JPG

At first we didnt eat any food because we were so full, well we did not expect we can enjoy all these free food, thought it would be limited or with price charges.

I also met Bean's bf for the first time, no comment, as long as she likes him, who cares?

In the end, i grabbed some food too, like fried vege pancake, luk luk, cendol and also fried chicken cutlet!

IMG_4186.JPG

IMG_4185.JPG

I also had enjoyed a great live band show before the night ends, such an amazing birthday for me.

Thank you Bean =D

It has been a while since i last met Cheryl, i guess it was during her wedding.

Well, as I was being saving for my korea trip, i had reduced cafe hunting these days, and usually i was the one intiated for meeting up, so Cheryl didnt ask me out too since her wedding.

However, she started mention it last month, so here come our gathering at VCR cafe at Bangsar today.

IMG_4008.JPG

I always wanna try this cafe, this cafe is quite famous since its first branch at Bukit Bintang, but there is too far for me, luckily they are doing good and open the 2nd branch in Bangsar.

Also thankful that Cheryl accompany me for the try out, she tried the cakes before but not the food. However, is kinda sad that it would be not many times both of us could out for cafe hopping because she is moving to Melbourne soon.

Great that there is a shopping mall - Bangsar village nearby the cafe, because it is so hard to get parking.

For sure the parking fee aint cheap, but it is just a short catch up for us. The cafe is in walking distance from Bangsar village, first i couldnt see it as it did not have sign board outside the shop.

Using google map, i able to locate the place but there are so many cafes around, when i thought i might be lost, suddenly saw the menu board outside the shop i standing was written "VCR" lol.

Cheryl arrived very soon after I got a table, this is what i have:

IMG_4014.JPG

Potato waffle with fried chicken : at first i am not sure what it means by potato waffle, i was thinking maybe a waffle topped with potatoes, then later only i found out it was the waffle shaped potato! So good, crispy at the outside, soft and mushy upon biting. I love the chicken too, seems dry from its apperance, but they are actually very juicy, very tasty too. =D

Now i can say, after yellow brick road cafe, stranger at 47 cafe, VCR will be the next cafe i would like to revisit. =)

IMG_4013.JPG

Cheryl get herself the Turkish egg, she love it, but it was not my plate of dish hehe. To me, it was just baked chick pea with egg, maybe unique, but that's it. I dont remember the taste too.

Since Cheryl praised about their cakes, so i ordered one too - the king, which was the signature cake in VCR.

IMG_4007.JPG

It is actually chocolate banana cake coated with peanut butter frosting, the combination is quite drastic, people would either love it or hate it.

I am ok with the combination, the cake is nice, but not delicious, nothing to shout about. Fussy me wouldnt rank this cake as signature, as i wouldnt come back for this, but yes for their mains.

I guess they must have other great cakes too as what Cheryl said, maybe more in Bukit Bintang. Guess shall visit there some other time.

That's all for my weekend. =D Great that i had finally drove to Bangsar village area, here have so many great cafes, i would come again next time hehe.

Such a long weekend is finally coming to an end, well, gaining 5 continuous holidays in a goal definitely is a bonus for me.

Thanks to the public holidays and also the effort of the national sport team for gaining 142 gold medals in SEA games, we gained bonus holiday =D

I also very grateful that my company decided to declare this extra holiday too because the management actually decided to ignore at first.

Hence, i could enjoy such a long holidays before continue putting the effort back into the projects again.

September would be a good month for me, because it is not just my birthday month, is also a month with most public holidays in 2017.

Almost every weekend is a public holiday, only thing is my company did not replace public holiday that fall on Saturday.

However, i think since we ald had plenty public holidays in September, i am fine with it this time =D

I am travelling to Penang in mid September with my parents, then end of this month will be celebrating my big day.

Then, soon next month will be going Korea ~ woohoo!!

Image result for 少女 2016 日本電影

For these past 4 days actually i didnt do much thing, clear up my room a bit, then watched a movie - Night's tightrope

It is actually based on a novel.

Movie itself actually not really satisfying to me, but i think i would like to read the book first and rewatch the movie then only comeout with a review, because the author of the novel is one of my favourite author.

Then, continued researched on my Korea trip information, watched some Arashi shows and of course had lots of good sleep =D

Almost woke up 10am plus everyday except for yesterday morning because i met up with Karen at Subang area yesterday.

We went to explore a mini bazaar at Summit USJ which was actually my suggestion because i sold the event posted for Korean mini brand miniacture watch.

Only found out it was such a small bazaar with only like 5 stalls setting up, come to think of that, actually i should have just skipped it

However good to find out the watch is originally come from Korea, thanks to Karen's advise, i didnt buy a watch yesterday because she said Korea got more choices.

Alright, let's see what i will get in Korea first then =D

Image result for korean mini brand watch

Gutted that I need to pay for RM3 for the parking fee, that's expensive and ridiculous cz Summit USJ had nothing~

Then, Karen took my suggestion, we went to SS15 courtyard for lunch at Korean Hanbing Dessert cafe.

Before we had lunch, we also found out courtyard got balloons~this definitely match Karen's choice lol, she love balloon so much, while to me, it was just ok.

Not mind seeing it, but not really love them that much. I think i more into colorful decor, so indeed attractive to me too.

IMG_3465.JPG

so cute, look at this! butterfly~

IMG_3466.JPG

Is actually setup for Merdeka concept, 1 malaysia.

IMG_3468.JPG

IMG_3469.JPG

IMG_3473.JPG

I guess this is orang utan? ==

IMG_3476.JPG

Really cool, look at the hibicus, so creative =)

IMG_3478.JPG

After snapping all the balloon photo, we went for lunch.

They serve savory menu too, i had the classical cheesy toppokki, but it was not as good as i thought.

IMG_3480.JPG

However, i must compliment their bingsu, no wonder they claimed it as the best bingsu in town.

IMG_3482.JPG

The shaved ice was so smooth, like coconut flakes!

IMG_3484.JPG

I ordered the Injeolmi Snow ice, come with steamed dried bean powder, mochi and almond flakes.

IMG_3483.JPG

The portion seems small as compared with the bingsu at Cafe Bene, but actually it is very densed and filling =)

I ranked this as my best Bingsu i had so far, i think maybe it would be replaced with Bingsu from Korea after my trip in coming October =P.

But so far, the best for sure =D

Glad that i had visited Hanbing cafe, glad that Karen come with me, at least making my long weekend slightly productive ^^ hehe.

Wow, it had been a while since volume V, it was last year!

Main reason was because there are not many good place to eat around my new office, mainly is Malays store and hawker stalls.

I had no longer had the chances to try out good meal or exploring more varieties of food like last time in Macfood, nowadays, having lunch within an hour is also my KPI =S

But, there's always ways to get good food, so after working for one year, i at least got something to post lol.

 IMG_1774.JPG

This is the famous banana leaf, to be honest, i really dont get the reason for this expensive vegetarian rice to gain such a high popularity, it was so unreasonable costed and nothing much to shout for it.

I kept turning down the invitation for banana leaf after visited that place twice, or be specific, after i paid for the meal by myself, because the first attempt was paid by Uncle Wilson.

IMG_1631.JPG

Then, this is actually after work, is a new cafe opened at Sunway Pyramid, i had this for "dinner", the HK style egglette, but it was overpriced, and not really good.

IMG_1632.JPG

Then, this is also was eaten after work before one of my crochet class, ya somehow i can take dessert as dinner.

IMG_2986.JPGIMG_2985.JPG

This was bought from RT pastry house, not cheap, but i was too curious to find out what was this cute little chick carrying within, and sooner found out it was a mochi with cream and fruit pieces in it.

Quite good actually, just too expensive. Somehow i really think RT is ripping off consumers' money.

So as McD! As i was working as this giant fast food chain's supplier company for 2 years plus, i kinda can guess the price for the patties and other ingredient of the burger build, McD itself had earned so much!

Recently they released this syok burger, the patty is actually the coated peri-peri whole muscle chicken patty which was developed by Karen.

IMG_3314.JPG

Maybe because of the love& hate feeling towards Macfood, i still want to give some support to try out the new product even though i had left the company for a year.

The chicken patty is actually quite good, very juicy, and taste is good, but the sauce is overpowering the patty itself. And the sauce was so sour!!!

IMG_3316.JPG

I never missed out their new dessert - pulut hitam pie too. I quite like it, very unique combination, but not too sweet.

IMG_3318.JPG

I was hesitate to try out their new D24 mcflurry, but surprised that it was not sold out when i was lining up at McD, so I decided to give it a try.

And so lucky that i tried it out, because it actually cure my craviness for durian, i had not eaten durian for almost a year. And the durian i ate last year was so little that was not satisfied at all!

IMG_3319.JPG

It was actually durian puree with vanilla ice cream, portion is not big either, and super expensive - RM8 per cup!!! Indeed ripping off the consumer money, because the durian pieces is barely found, it was so mushy that all mixed up with the ice cream. I wouldnt go for the second time even they still have stocks left.

Actually i also had tried out Wai Ee developed Spicy korean burger, but i didnt take a photo because i was eating it as a take away during my busy time for the chocolate cake issue.

That spicy kimchi patty was ok, same issue, the sauce is over powering the patty taste too.

Then, i also finally able to eat at the NikonKai at Kota Kemuning during lunch time, although we were like 10mins late back from lunch, but I DONT CARE =P

IMG_2970.JPG

Portion was so big, and price considered reasonable, and so generous of them gave me two salmon fillet =D

It was good that dining with Christine for lunch can sometime have such a good meal =)

Stay on for my next food hunting post ~

Yes! Finally is the long waited long weekend, today is Wednesday but feeling like a Friday to me, because i am getting 4 days off in a row~

It was supposed to be 5 days in a row as government just announced 4th September as public holiday too, bu too bad my company didnt declare it so i only got 4 days off.

Oh well, better than nothing, at least i still can catch up earlier for my on-going chocolate cake project.

I had kinda stopped cafe hunting for sometime, mainly to save money and also because there is too many cafes out there.

I wouldnt say there is no good cafe, but the chances actually are too many over-rated cafes and most of them are overpriced.

However, it is hard for a foodie to stop exploring new cafes, so since it is prior to long weekend, i decided to meet wai ee and go to Empire Damansara~

I always wanted to come here because of Haraju Cube, i had been longing this dessert for such a long time, and finally made it today~

Thanks to wai ee for being such a good food company that always said yes to wherever i want to go, the drive to Empire Damansara tonight was so jamming!

I actually drove to the wrong way twice but grateful that eventually also reaching the destination around 730pm =) (almost an hour drive)

First scene is this umbrella decor that is quite famous at Empire Damansara, but because it was dark, it is not so nice to capture this scene.

IMG_3375.JPG

I think it will look better in the morning.. soon, i also found Jekyll and Hyde cafe, where is also the place i wished to have mains before my dessert at Haraju Cube.

Surprised that there were staffs promoting the cafe by passing leaflet to us, because i thought this is a famous cafe but somehow i think it is maybe just alright because Empire Damansara is full of eateries, and didnt really gain such a big attention for this cafe.

IMG_3376.JPG

There are actually quite many varieties for the food to be chosen, ended up we picked the set meal for couples as it come with 4 dishes and also 2 drinks.

Wai Ee is so healthy that she just want to drink plain water, so i took both the red wine and orange juice by my own. Apparently there were 3 drinks options to choose from, either red wine paired with orange juice or cocktails paired with orange juice. However, the foreign waiter really speak poor english and i had no idea what is the cocktail he describing, and there is no menu to explain the cocktail range, so to be safe, i picked the red wine.

It had been a while since my last red wine, and to be honest, i was a bit tipsy after drinking this red wine, it is not bad, quite smooth to sip.

For the dishes, the set we chose come with a salad, toast, signature pork ribs and the famous cheesy wheel pasta.

The toast were not bad, but nothing much to be shout out.

IMG_3378 (1).JPG

For salad, i think the sauce was too sweet and too much. @@

IMG_3377 (1).JPG

I personally quite like their signature BBQ pork rib, the sauce is well marinated, and very soft but not too dry.

IMG_3380.JPG

Whereas for the famous cheesy wheel pasta, i really think it was overrated, or tonight the chef had encountered bad mood. Cheesy lover maybe will like the cheesy taste, but the spagetti was undercooked, so hard. =S

IMG_3379 (1).JPG

Overall, the portion for all 4 dishes were not bad, but it would not be very filling for 2 person either, but it is good because we still need to go for dessert which was the reason we come all the way here.

Wai Ee was paying for the dinner because both of us did not carry cash, so next dinner will be on me then, of cause i paid for the dessert later.

Saw this at Jekyll and Hyde cafe which is quite ironic, because actually i do care about for the food itself rather than the environment, but people yes, i must agree it is an important factor too.

IMG_3394.JPG

Then, we headed to upstairs for dessert, Haraju Cube indeed very famous, so crowded here!

I did not get the recently released all black sweet toast because i think it is kinda too heavy to handle as wai ee did not seems like wanna tried out either, but maybe next time for me.

So hard to pick, in the end i got the best selling one which is Haraju Bomb, come with matcha/vanilla ice cream, cream, chocolate sticks, cookies and mashmellow.

IMG_3382.JPG

IMG_3383.JPG

IMG_3384.JPG

It was so huge! and very filling! The toast is in black too which i guess is temporary to match with their black themed toast.

But i really like this toast, it was very crispy and buttery, smell so good! It was way better than Miru cafe and Dazzling!

So give a tick for Haraju Cube, marked that it will be visited again lol =D

We actually did not finish the entire toast, and the ice cream actually melted half way when we still eating, because we were so full to finish it, so we kinda stop eating then chat, then eat again.

Anyway, it was a good night. Good that wai ee had been doing well, and could tell that she actually had learnt a lot and be more tough for her role.

Both of us will be getting better in life =)

It had been a while since our last gathering, and this time is for Bpeng birthday~

IMG_3195.JPG

IMG_3205.JPG

Macaroni was picked this time, but it was really a bad idea, the food was so expensive and really salty.

Another thing that pissed me off was the limited parking space, although the place itself is well known to own a large compartment, but they even hired guard to control the traffic and direct the parkings, but it was really bad that they set the parking spaces in front of the shop at a very narrow space.

The guard directed me to the space and seriously I could not able to reverse my car to fit into the parking space, it had no extra space for me to even slightly turn my car.

My car front wheel actually torn the wooden chair (a little one) placed in front of the shop twice! I was so pissed off and luckily Bean just arrived and told me to park at the road side which was a much better idea.

So with a bad emotion being set off, i entered this place which recently gaining popularity in Klang.

IMG_3222.JPG

IMG_3226.JPG

I can tell this place is famous because of the environment, and i also frankly told the others that the review was bad.

Indeed, i was right, the price is steep, even a simple salad cost RM20! Not even mention about the drinks, all of us had just RO water, refillable but cost RM1!

The price was ridiculous, even the seafood spagetti i ordered come with so called luxurious seafood - mussels, scallop , squids and shrimps, the taste was way too salty.

IMG_3215.JPG

This plate cost me RM35! which had not include GST and service charges.

IMG_3225.JPG

I had to admit the service was considered good because the chicken leg Chyi ordered was undercooked and the restaurant decided to wipe off the charges for that plate and also gifted a complimentary dessert.

Only thing is the dessert they gifted was real bad.

Well, the main character tonight was not the food, but is our dear friend, Bpeng.

IMG_3217.JPG

IMG_3218.JPG

IMG_3219.JPG

Happy to gather tonight, and we still had lots of fun conversation.

Anyway, happy birthday~

Lack of sleep last night, there are so many catch-up and event going on this weekend.

Yesterday was Derrick’s and Kong’s birthday dinner, then I planned for a movie + One U outing day for my family for tomorrow. As for today, I reserved for Nicky, who finally back in Malaysia for visit!

It was 4 years ago since we last met, then we sort of lost contact (or more like not actively keep in touch) until Nicky approached me during CNY this year. Apparently, she was and still facing some financial problem while having her whole family migrate to Perth. There were some ugly government rules going on and she really struggling to settle everything by her own. Somehow, I really impressed and amazed with her ability and strength to undergo all these hassles. It must be very difficult for her to keep the faith and continue putting effort to attain what she dreams for. I felt sorry for her, because I really couldn’t help much. Therefore, I didn’t really rush her to return me the money, as a friend, I trust her and I only can offer what I can do.

IMG_2928.JPG

We had bak kut teh this morning, meaning I skipped my run and joined her for the fatty breakfast. However, I am good with the invitation because I know the missing of the local food while staying abroad. Moreover, she came all the way from Pahang (her hometown) to Klang to meet me, I am very happy to serve my guest. Thank you =D

IMG_2932.JPG

We chat a lot, spending the whole morning at this famous bah kut teh restaurant in Klang. I always bring my friends here if anyone coming Klang for bah kut teh. I hope everything will be turning well at her side. Stay strong my friend. All the best and take care.

Wish you sort out everything smoothly, and we can arrange trip together somewhere =D.

After meeting Nicky, Chyi asked me for coffee in the afternoon, of course I happily said yes though I was thinking to have some rest at home, either reading books or continued my crochet/scarf knitting. But then, it is hard to turn down invitation especially it was from Chyi, because recently she just resigned before getting a job and struggled to get a job too. I guess both of us need a listener.

We met each other at MOKA, this newly opened café at Botanic area. I had this colorful waffle for my lunch because still full from my breakfast this morning. Actually, I ordered a croissant first but they had run out. So, it is fated to have sweet today ^^.

IMG_2939.JPG

The waffle looks pretty but actually very hard and ordinary for the taste. Good that they come with wholesome combination of fruits, and the ice cream given is a large scoop to match with the hard waffle.

I chat a lot with Chyi today too, couldn’t believe we can chat that much and have such a deep conversation. Recently, I realized somehow having a deep and meaningful conversation with some sort of non-close friends are better. Your close friend is not entirely knowing you that well and also willing to listen. I realized that in different stages of life, we met different people to heal our pain, they can be someone had been closed to you, or someone getting closer in the future, or even someone who you might not able to meet again. Somehow, I think, to blame or judge the meaning of friendship is a bit irrelevant, because friends in need might not be always the bestie you thought. Moreover, everyone has their own life, she/he might be stand by your side in the past, but that doesn’t mean that they will always able to stand by your side every time you need.

So, I am learning to let go, to let go the bonding, to let go that I don’t need them all the time. Maybe it sounds extreme, but I felt like I would like to cherish the time we spend together in the future rather than blaming them not accompanying or understanding me when I need. Not sure what’s the meaning of friendship, but I do know the reality is you can’t demand people to be what you wish for.

Anyways, thanks Chyi and Nicky for being a listener today. At least I am grateful that I still have some friends who willing to hear while I need even though we were not that close =)

Thank you =)

Lastly i forgot to share that Pek Shan gifted me a little bottle of Victoria Secret perfume, she said only a few friends of her getting this. I felt special =) thank you~

It had been a while since my last café hopping, well, because I need a reason, a firm and good one =P

I had been trying to cut down the frequency of visiting café and having fancy brunch meals recently unless it was necessary. Mainly, I would like to diet, at the same time, save some money. I do realize how I spent without much thought when it comes to food.

But it was a good time to catch up and definitely a good reason to chill up at the café. Is Derrick and Kong’s birthday! Woooah~~

IMG_2925.JPG

Initially we planned to have dinner cum celebration at Chicken Up (Korean cuisine), but really unfortunate for the Macfood staffs who still struggling to leave. They got caught up again, like how I did last time. Their first production was postponed from the morning to night, and they only have 1 hr time for us. =S

Grateful that they insisted to celebrate tonight too, even they really have tight schedule. Therefore, I proposed a different venue, where closer to Macfood, we went to Softcore instead.

This is also my first time to have savoury meal at Softcore, I tried their matcha lava cake and dark chocolate lava cake once and impressed =D

IMG_2911.JPG

Karen and I shared a pot of rose tea. Nice tea pot, the drink itself was ok, not much fragrance.

IMG_2912.JPG

IMG_2913.JPG

I ordered a baked chicken, portion size was not bad….taste was just alright. Both Pek Shan and Pei Ling ordered sia kap, but can see that the size was so small, and they definitely not full after meal.

Wai Ee and Derrick joined us with their new intern, Anson, after like half an hour later. We talked so much, and of course we were loud, but it really bring back lots of good memories. The desserts were not left out too, we got their promotion, which paid RM5 for the lava cake with ordering 2 mains.

The staffs were very friendly, they took our request to decorate the dessert plates.

We had the limited edition of taro molten cake, Salted egg yolk molten cake and the dark chocolate molten cake again.

IMG_2917.JPG

Taro molten cake was actually quite disappointing, the taro taste was very mild, hopefully meaning they using the real yam.

IMG_2921.JPG

Salted egg yolk cake was good! Very egg yolk, but thank god we were sharing it, because I could feel the fat in it~

IMG_2918.JPG

Dark chocolate molten cake still the best after all~

IMG_2944.JPG

IMG_2945.JPG

Derrick and Wai Ee stayed for like an hour plus, after half an hour later we also left. It was a good night, great to see Kong was graduated as first class honours, Pei Ling and Pek Shan works well, Karen also still as usual like me, sometimes busy, sometimes bored at job. As for the rest still struggling at Macfood, good luck. Hopefully, they could build up their career experience and get out soon =P

Woohoo is father's day, and here come my little brother's treat for the first time.

Since he had earned his first paid from his free lance job, he had promised to offer a good meal for us lol.

So quickly grab him this time and go Morganfield~

I always want to try their pork ribs but kept hesistate because the price was too expensive.

Glad that today's meal is on my brother's~

But to be honest i think their ribs were just alright, indeed the meat is succulent and juicy, and also very soft and tender, but i think their sauce is too heavy.

IMG_1751.JPG

IMG_1750.JPG

We ordered two different flavor of half slab pork ribs, come with complementary fries and corn chips.

Honestly, i really think the portion was not very huge, maybe yes for 2 people, but for 6 of us, including the sizzling we had, i think none of us can consider full.

I also felt the restaurant is very chicky, they released a promotion for today-only for father's day, which is offer 50% discount for 1 of the sizzling main course, however, if we chose to redeem this promotion, we will not able to redeem the free kid's meal. WTH!

How you able to expect kids could give the sizzling? how can you use that to treat.

Moreover the sizzling meal was such a dissapointment, the lamb was so chewy, hard to be swollen. =S

IMG_1753.JPG

This will be the one and only time to have you.

Later tonight, i also had dinner with Dad, just both of us because mum had gone back to hometown while my brother was obsessed with the computer again.

But i didnt snap any photo for dinner tho we had Japanese meal because it was not a pleasant experience mainly because of the late arrival of meal which is what i really hate!

However i chose to forgive them because i can understand they were unprepared for the crowd that celebrate father's day.

Anyway, happy papa day, love you dad~

this was the view outside my house before heading to dinner.

So is this time again, when come to May and June, there's always people having their birthday, and we have 4 today!

Actually, one of them had yet to come, but we are too concerning about their turn to get 30 lol, so we celebrate all-in-one.

But before the post about the celebration tonight, let's talk about my work this morning.

Siti, the QA assistant had changed a new iphone, which is even latest then mine, and red in color., a.k.a limited edition, or what so ever, lol

She got a lot of goodies and i earned this, OMG totoro is just fated to be mine =D

IMG_1473.JPG

We also happily play with the selfie stick and the selfie wide angle camera.....with my boss absence today, and i started early today and back home early too, indeed a happy wednesday for me.

IMG_1495.JPG

IMG_1497.JPG

A hao also taught me some cute bun today, tada!!

IMG_1485.JPG

It was easier than what i thought, good attempt, now back to dinner just now.

Cafe of the night is not what i had heard off, but it had been there for a while, and famous for their Colgi puppies~

LOok at them! so cute!! OMG, they even come to me when i stepped in the cafe, and without barking, i really can feel how loved i was hehe.

IMG_1502.JPG

IMG_1510.JPG

IMG_1518.JPG

IMG_1521.JPG

This cafe - Deja Woof, is located at Bandar Baru area, which is not really well known and crowded. There was no one except us during our first 3 hours here.

As my sore throat had not fully recovered, i had to order something mild and i had the paella, although the menu name here appeared differently.

IMG_1528.JPG

But i am sorry to say that they really failed the dish, it is not paella, no wonder they didnt name it paella.

Even so, the taste was poorly defined, and too moist. The seafood provided was generous, but i really hard to give it a good review.

The only thing impressive perhaps still the cute Colgi, but i can see the cafe would be very hard to sustain.

IMG_1531.JPG

IMG_1534.JPG

IMG_1535.JPG

Chyi bought the cake at B'wiched Publika, cottage chocolate cake definitely the safest choice, and taste not bad too.

IMG_1549.JPG

IMG_1540.JPG

Too bad cheen departed earlier for her job, otherwise we would be completed =)

IMG_1546.JPG

Dense and rich, not too sweet too =D

Photo time~

IMG_1548.JPG

IMG_1550.JPG

IMG_1551.JPG

Anyway, we had a good time to have fun with the cute Colgis, and also shared very good chat.

I couldnt believe Chyi is willing to share her in-depth thought with me, and also when we talked about beepeng after she left for something earlier, i am happy that how we care about her feelings and conditions after encountered such a dramatical changes in her life.

We all showed our concern and hope that Bpeng could go through this hard time and understand that she is not alone.

IMG_1562.JPG

Last but not the least, happy birthday 30s! I am looking forward for the getaway soon! (look carefully of the photo, we had placed cheen in it too =P)

This week was really long, had been looking forward for weekend since the begining of this week.

My followers should notice i had completed a marathon last Sunday, i actually took a day off on Monday, but what really unpredictable was the body ache after resting for a day.

I could feel the pain and sore of my muscle from my back and hips, they were tearing and yelling at me....gosh, it had been lasted for like 2 days until i had badminton on Tuesday night and it turned out to be relieved.

However, the next pain was the on and off fever attack and my irritated sore throat......it had been torturing me since Wednesday until now, but of course after seeing the panel doctor and had antibiotics on Thursday, it's getting better now.

I was meant to get a typhoid injection on Thursday because mine would be expired soon, but due to my illness i need to postpone and couldnt get mc because boss was rushing me for a muffin assessment.

Thank god is finally weekend!

Actually went for a movie with Bean last night, i fall because it was Anne Hattaway, but <Collosal> was really a clueless movie to me....i dont see the point, and neither being entertained ==

Well, Anne Hattaway is still cool and hot, it was good to watch her, but the close to 2 hr movie was really long and i was expecting something meaningful and interesting moment and then, is just that and end...==

I wouldnt say it is a bad movie, is just probably not my cup of tea.

oh well....that's my friday, but i still got something, the books i bought online is finally here:

IMG_1450.JPG

I got so many books to read, i guess maybe i only able to read those above next year ==

Then today, is definitely considered my recovering day, because i finally get to eat something good, just still restricting myself to fried stuff.

This was a long date set since April with Karen, after my exploration at Publika last week, i am being an art buff again today, visiting "collective design link 3" at Koncent today.

The place is really very tiny, and so surprised to see those artists to squeeze themselves with their displays tightly to each other, and the walkway for visitors is also very narrow, luckily it was not very crowded while we visit.

IMG_1422.JPG

However, i think it was good that this is actually the 3rd time they having such exhibition, of course it was even better if the exhibition is as large as the one in Publika, at least it attract more crowd and more people would know there is so many amazing artists out there.

This is the main reason i am here today, i encountered this flower petal design phone case on the website some time ago, and hesitate to order online because of the price.

It was actually cheaper than my current phone case which also bought online and is customized, but i personally dont really like it so was thinking if it is worth to order something online again without knowing the quality.

Indeed, i was impressed with the photos this website shown, but still not very confident due to my last experience for customized phone case.

So as soon as i knew they are joining the Design link event, i also take this opportunity to visit this kind of artistic event, the event last week was really participated at very last minute because i nearly missed out.

I bought 2 at this end, one is this, which is the same one attacted me from website, and it is really well made. =) All their creation, even those jewelry also very delicate and exquisite.

IMG_1447.JPG

Another one is pending from their further design and shipment because it is upon my request, with the changes of the petals and color of the drawing.

I am looking forward for it now =D

It was great to meet Karen today, she was cutely dressed up today, and i actually was encouraged because with her who 2 years older than me was dare to wear hair band and dress like those girls in 20s....

Then why shall i afraid that my outfit is not mature enough? I was questioning myself these months because Pek Shan said i dressed like a kid and asked to me to wear something like 30s...==

I am aware of my age, and also thought that maybe i should change my style too, point is i actually dont even know what is my style.

Mum told me to wear something cute and young because it doesnt matter as I looks cute on it. Well, i think it is true because I indeed suits cute outfit due to my baby face =P

So i would not care how people think of me, i will wear what i feel like wearing =)

We initially plan to have lunch at some cafes close to Koncent, but we never thought the place was so small and Karen mentioned about Uptown was not too far away so we made our way to Uptown for food.

I actually got hit by a car on my way to Uptown, a car reversed without noticed i was just at behind. Luckily both of our speed was nearly zero and it was just a bit scratch or maybe even none on my car.

So let's forgive the careless driver and have good food.

We had lunch at red kettle cafe in Star link. It was good to have new mall at Uptown, it means have more parkings =)

IMG_1423.JPG

Red kettle cafe was popular, why i dint know that lol. They have another branch at Taman Desa, and this is the 2nd branch at Star Link.

They got interesting menu too, and i was attracted by their signature big breakfast.

It was quite creative that they place all the big breakfast common item on top of the pancake in a pan.

IMG_1426.JPG

However, to me the breakfast was actually just alright, not bad but not really impressive.

I think maybe next time still can try other food, just dont know when lol.

IMG_1454.JPG

When come out from Red Kettle also saw this hanging at Starlink, quite nice.

After lunch of course is dessert time, as i couldnt get ice cream due to my sore throat, i suggested tea press, a japanese dessert and tea house where i wanna visit for long time.

IMG_1432.JPG

This place is really cool and classy, can tell the Japanese owner was really trying to implanting the Japnanese concept into Malaysian shop.

Their desserts are mainly wagashi, which is my favourite <3

IMG_1433.JPG

I ended up couldnt resist their special tea flavor ice cream. So I had the wagashi ice cream set, warabi mochi with dango and hoji tea ice cream, topped with azuki paste.

IMG_1435.JPG

Karen had the matcha version.

IMG_1438.JPG

I think it was not bad, is just way too sweet until the end, mainly is meant to be paired with the tea.

I would love to visit this place again for their other savory menu next time =)

IMG_1436.JPG

That's all for today, it was great to catch up with Karen, glad to hear that she also in love too (another one ==) and i think i just keep myself occupied and think what i really want for life then is good.

Love life? Let it be more naturally, let it be while it be.

The little cute devil also visited us tonight, look how abdorable she is when climb up to her dad lol.

Definitely over eating this weekend, i never expect i would go cafe hunting so frequently for this week.

I had set up a target for myself to cut down the frequency of cafe hopping since i am saving money for travelling.

Oh well, i thought i had not met Huey Yee for a while and asked her out for catch up, hence i went for cafe hunting at Puchong area on Friday night.

Initially i was thinking to go Le Pollidor cafe but the reviews were really bad, hence i changed my mind last minute and suggested for Porcupine Place at Setia Walk.

I saw somewhere that their breakfast was a must try but i could not trace back the website, their breakfast menu indeed looks attractive, especially with lots of pork hidden in most of the dishes.

However, in the end, we were more attracted by its Mother's day special 2 course meal, Huey Yee suggested we have that as the waiter also said that we could share the 2 course meals.

To be honest, the portion size is not enough for 2 persons tho, probably we still longing for dessert later so we wouldnt mind have this 2 course meal.

The entree is a soup dish, mainly because Huey Yee is not a fan of salad, (there's 2 choices for both entree and main) but if it was my choice, i would choose salad.

However, the choice of soup is also good because i really love the creamy tortellini soup, with the nutty chickpea in it, and lots of vege really provided a bowl of wholesome taste.

I must emphasize the tuscan sausage in the middle of the soup, it was brilliantly made with a crispy bread-coated the sausage meat in it. It was so yummy =)

Then, for the main, it was my pick - Memphis pork belly with cider juice, mashed potato, sweet corn cob, purple apple slaw and bacon crumbs.

The pork belly was well cooked, soft and tender upon biting, and very succulent, the fatty layer was not too oily or cloyed, but i do think the sauce made with cider juice was too sweet.

Huey Yee declined to taste the corn, so i ate the corn cob while she finished up the mashed potato.

I love the corn cob, sweet and matched well with the sweet sauce.

For drink, initially i planned to order a pot of tea, but the waiter recommended the signature drink - pink lemonade and basil breezer.

They used basil leave to make the sorbet, which is really creative, but too bad i dont really like the taste., or i shall say it didnt impress me.

Oh well, but i think their menu overall is creative and would like to visit this place again.

After the savoury attempt, we left and moved to Bandar puteri area for dessert. Finally i come to Mangosix, this korean cafe that appeared many times in various Korean drama.

I ordered the signature Mango Tango, but to be honest, i think it was overrated and overpriced.

I especially really dislike how I kept sipping the mango fibre and it's annoying.

It was just a normal mango smooties drink, with cream and yogurt and some coconut flakes. Maybe sounds healthy because there seems like no extra sugar or syrup, but who knows.

I think i can prepare this at home ==

But it was a good night to catch up with Huey Yee, good to know everything is fine on her side.

Then today, i had another excuses for cafe hopping, because Cheryl need to pass me the bridemaid dress.

I thought i only need to have one cafe hopping this week, but plan always change, and i took it as another chance =)

This also marked an official red bomb attack! She not just passed me the dress, but also a wedding card, sigh ==

Ok, stop sighing, it is a good news and excitement, my besties is married soon!

We went to Stanger at 47, thanks to cheryl that still didnt mind to pay another visit as she been here just one week ago.

However, this was my first attempt here after bookmarked this place for sometime ago, and finally i drove here to taste it.

I got myself the shore to please, no longer longing for big breakfast because i think big breakfast is a bit boring and too fatty lol.

Or mybe because the big breakfast did not look appealing to me, and i was amazed by the photo of the seafood crepe combination.

EB50D781-CD41-4BDD-A785-9D0F93D98967.jpg

Indeed a good choice, i am proud of my pick lol.

I am surprised that the sauce is salted egg yolk because it didnt taste very eggy or buttery to me. The sauce was just right, and matched well with the tasteless crepe and seafood.

Cajun shrimps sound really challenging, not many people can handle cajun flavor well, it could be get either very tasty or yuck.

However, stranger at 47 nailed it, and i was really sastisfied with this plate of savory.

SO grateful that there is still a heartful cafe where focusing on creative crepe menu, thank you. Your dish really made my day.

I also had a cinnamon hot chocolate today, but so sorry to say, you guys have to put more effort on your hot chocolate.

With my happy pallet this weekend, i am blessed with creative and good food, and delighted that there are still good cook out there in Malaysia.

I am well known for being a foodie, and one of the reason that I am so passionate and interested in food is because of my family.

All of us are particular for food, especially my dad. Both us dad and daughter share the same taste bud, we always crave for the best food in town.

Dad is willing to try different food, is just he still typical a chinese cuisine eater, always boast about the worthy and value of price in eating chinese food.

He could accept Korean and Japanese, or even Vietnamese, but he would still insist Chinese cuisine especially with ordering various types of dishes along with white rice is the best.

Recently, we had come across some rarely attempts of food experience in our neighbourhood.

Just like today, we visited this Thai restaurant where i never knew that it had been opened since 2015, until i discovered via facebook.

IMG_1193.JPG

I was amazed with their clay pot tom yum, though dad complained that there are too much of lemon grass and spices bits in the soup, but i think that's the essence of tom yum which we cant really neglect, and in fact their portion is very generous, i got to drink up to 3 bowls!, not just me, all 4 of us got almost similar 3 - 4 bowls of soup.

We ordered 5 dishes: clay pot tom yum, stir fry fish with egg plants, omelette, pandan chicken and papaya salad.

Overall, their dishes are not that spicy, but very flavorful, except for the omelette is slightly small and the pandan chicken is almost tasteless.

We were so full after our meal, but the waiter was very enthusiastic to recommend their home made dessert, and really fall for it after his constant approaches.

IMG_1194.JPG

I should have poured all the coconut milk to the mango sticky rice, i forgotten the coconut milk is salty, how i claimed myself a foodie? ==

Actually the mango sticky rice is very nice, but it would be even better if i poured all the coconut milk in, because it was too sweet.

Thankful that dad and mum allowing the dessert because i knew them well that they would skip dessert, because neither of them are dessert fan.

Main reason was dad has diabetes and need to cut down on sugar, while mum is always concious about health and would ban sugary sweets.

So today considered very special that we can have dessert after dinner, and also happy that this thai restaurant actually can use U-pocket app for discount =D

Here also would like to throwback some of the food experience i had recently with my family.

IMG_0809.JPG

Dating with my man, my dad, haha. It was just 2 of us for dinner that night, and dad was asking me to bring him to places where i had those good food with my friends.

But that is so hard to find good cafe food or special food in our neighbourhood, so ended up we come to Todam. It had been a while since our last visit, and their food still good.

What surprised us was we underestimated the size of the seafood pancake, and was so hard to swallow everything in the end.

Definitely over eating and stufiing that night.

IMG_0826.JPG

Curry fish at the restaurant we used to go, no one can resist curry~

IMG_0850.JPG

Last but not the least, we also gone to the Korean BBQ place we went once last month. I think actually their food was just alright, and decided to bring mum and dad for Mr. Dakgalbi next time. =)
