It had been a while since my last café hopping, well, because I need a reason, a firm and good one =P

I had been trying to cut down the frequency of visiting café and having fancy brunch meals recently unless it was necessary. Mainly, I would like to diet, at the same time, save some money. I do realize how I spent without much thought when it comes to food.

But it was a good time to catch up and definitely a good reason to chill up at the café. Is Derrick and Kong’s birthday! Woooah~~

Initially we planned to have dinner cum celebration at Chicken Up (Korean cuisine), but really unfortunate for the Macfood staffs who still struggling to leave. They got caught up again, like how I did last time. Their first production was postponed from the morning to night, and they only have 1 hr time for us. =S

Grateful that they insisted to celebrate tonight too, even they really have tight schedule. Therefore, I proposed a different venue, where closer to Macfood, we went to Softcore instead.

This is also my first time to have savoury meal at Softcore, I tried their matcha lava cake and dark chocolate lava cake once and impressed =D

Karen and I shared a pot of rose tea. Nice tea pot, the drink itself was ok, not much fragrance.

I ordered a baked chicken, portion size was not bad….taste was just alright. Both Pek Shan and Pei Ling ordered sia kap, but can see that the size was so small, and they definitely not full after meal.

Wai Ee and Derrick joined us with their new intern, Anson, after like half an hour later. We talked so much, and of course we were loud, but it really bring back lots of good memories. The desserts were not left out too, we got their promotion, which paid RM5 for the lava cake with ordering 2 mains.

The staffs were very friendly, they took our request to decorate the dessert plates.

We had the limited edition of taro molten cake, Salted egg yolk molten cake and the dark chocolate molten cake again.

Taro molten cake was actually quite disappointing, the taro taste was very mild, hopefully meaning they using the real yam.

Salted egg yolk cake was good! Very egg yolk, but thank god we were sharing it, because I could feel the fat in it~

Dark chocolate molten cake still the best after all~

Derrick and Wai Ee stayed for like an hour plus, after half an hour later we also left. It was a good night, great to see Kong was graduated as first class honours, Pei Ling and Pek Shan works well, Karen also still as usual like me, sometimes busy, sometimes bored at job. As for the rest still struggling at Macfood, good luck. Hopefully, they could build up their career experience and get out soon =P
