Woohoo, is weekend again! The most special about this weekend is there's a short trip for me!

I had been looking forward for short trip recently, and crazily, I will have 3 continuous weekend trip coming up.

This weekend, I joined my "girls only" gang to Ipoh, next week, there will be a S3SL class reunion trip at Sepang, then in early May, I will go Malacca with my family!

For sure, it will be tiring, but I am happy and excited with all these weekend getaway.

come back to the trip today, we headed to Ipoh via car pool, 2 cars heading there, with bean driving 1 car, and bpend driving another.

There are 8 of us, and will be spending 2 days and 1 night in Ipoh.

We had our breakfast at Subway, at the highway rest area, just along our way to Ipoh.

Then, have lunch straight away upon arrival at Ipoh.

We gone to this famous "Under big tree" (direct translation) to have the famous "yong tao foo"

The selection of the yong tao foo is really bizarre! There are so many variety, and the queue was very long too.

This was what we ordered: various type of yong tao foo, together with Ipoh style laksa and chicken hor fun.

File_003 (5).jpeg

To be honest, is just taste like normal yong tao foo, nothing so special other than they have various variety.

The Ipoh style laksa is not bad, but i still prefer my Malacca nyonya laksa or Penang style assam laksa.

We also encountered a roast pork stall which had a long line, their roast pork also looks yummy, but received very big dissapointment after ordering it.

After lunch, we went to the town centre to visit the newly opened 3D art museum.

Similar as the cafe blooming culture, 3D art is also blooming aggressively in various tourism spots in Malaysia.

I guess it is a good thing for the artists, especially for those who are very talented but not receiving acknowledgement from the public.

This art museum is rather small compared with the 3D art museum I gone in PD, there were also not many collections in this museum.

But we did have lots of memories over here:

After the 3D art museum, we walked to the "er nai xiang", direct translated as second wives lane.

File_005 (2).jpeg

Apparently this lane was named this way because lots of people actually "hide" their second wives at this lane, lol.

File_006 (2).jpeg

Nowadays, er nai lane had turned into an artistic lane selling various artistic items and food.

Look at this, so cute!!! I accidentally saw it when I looked up to the sky, and found this in one of the shop balcony.

Just like last time when I visited here with sze ying, we also went in to this special shop selling cool stuffs and also have a small exhibition area at its second floor.

I decided to have something icy before I gone into the shop, so i had a passion fruit ice stick.

I also had bought myself a small pouch and passport holder with customized name and decor on it.

Then, we head to the Plan B area, and took lots of great photo.

There is some artistic area just beside the restaurant and cafe - Plan B.

We spent so much time over here, all of us really love selfie and taking photos, especially cheen and teng.

I also have finally bought this: the ice ball - from Bits and Bobs at a small kiosk just opposite Plan B.

I missed this during my last visit as the kiosk was closed, but this time definitely not missing it.

20160423_162321.jpg

Basically, it is shaved ice which formed into a ball and poured with syrup, mine was called nishibomb - which covered with the combination of sarsi and assam syrup.

Sweet and sour, very refreshing, but it was a mess of eating it as the ball is so huge!

My eating speed is far beyond the ice melting speed, I ended up with my clothes stained with the sweet syrup....TT

Never ever have this again, it would be better if they are served in a bowl rather than this normal paper.

For the cost of RM3, I strongly advise you to think twice before ordering it unless you are sharing with someone who really can eat ice like eating rice

After the messiness, we decided to have dinner, you must be kidding me....

What to do, it is basicall an eating trip after all...

IMG_0213.JPG

We have our pre-dinner at the famous chicken rice shop (Lou Wong), strongly discourage you to give them a try.

The chicken was very old, salty and chewy, the only thing is nice basically is the expensive bean sprouts.

I also have first attempt the Ipoh sweet steamed custard egg dessert, it is not too bad but very sweet, I still prefer creme brulee or custard pudding tho.

20160423_173149.jpg

After the expensive dinner, we actually come across with heavy rain and forced to stay in a sheltered shop lot to wait the rain to stop.

IMG-20160423-WA0008.jpg

It took us around 30mins of patience to get back to the car while the rain is getting smaller, and finally checked in to our accommodation.

This time, we are living in a luxurious condomidium - the haven residence and resort hotel

20160423_190620.jpg

This place is just like it named, like heaven. Thanks to the heavy rain, the air is so refreshing and with breeze of chill which really feel like in heaven.

The Haven is situated at the moutain area, facing a small natural lake and also have natural shaped lime stones and hills in surrounding area.

20160423_191103.jpg

This is what I saw from the balcony, lake at the bottom, and hills on  the top.

20160423_191526.jpg

Everyone was exhausted after the long day, but our condo is really comfy. I forgot to take the compartment inside the unit, but it is almost the same like what they showing in their official web.

20160423_191653.jpg

For those who really love to swim, they would not miss the luxurious swimming pool at the public area.

Unfortunately, I am neither a swim lover, nor able to swim tonight because my "aunt" had come to visit. ==

Looking at the jaguzzi, for the first time, I really wish I could join them to go into the pool.

20160423_195101.jpg

Hence, I only could walk around and take some photos.

My poor phone camera could only shot this....==

20160423_195950.jpg

But you still can see the blue beautiful swimming pool at the bottom...

After the long walk, I decided to go back to the condo to have some rest.

We also had gone for supper (yeah you are right, we were eating again), after those who have finished their good time in the pool.

This time, we went to the Tong Sui Kai, direct translated as dessert street to have the Ipoh famous fruity shaved ice.

Ohh, indeed famous and huge. This end my first night in Ipoh. =D
