Wooah, it had been a long time since my last visit to Wellington, really happy!

The happiest thing was I able to stay overnight at Paya’s place, and got more time to spend with her and in Welly.

I took naked bus this morning around 11am, and shocked that yen also coming with me in the same bus, she was going for her event. Then, without my expectation, I got a chit-chat company on the bus (was planning to sleep before). The seats on the bus were not comfortable, it was not adjustable, my back was not feeling well. Moreover, I chose the wrong seat, according to yen, we were sitting right on top of the tyres, which felt the vibration of the movement of the bus a lot. Hmmm....><

Anyways, we had great conversation, and I am considering attending those events recommended by yen. I reached welly around 1pm, and had starbucks!

Coffee jelly frappucino! I remembered having this in Malaysia, and now the jelly is back! Glad that I dint feel dizzy having coffee this afternoon.

Then Yen left us for her event which Paya will also going later at night. So actually I will stay at Paya’s place alone at night, but she promised to bring me to an interesting lounge bar tonight, cant wait! I kinda have a lunch + dinner meal around 4pm after dropping my belongings over paya’s place. We dined at a Malaysian vegetarian restaurant, and I ordered roti canai again. I know, recently I am so addicted to roti.....evil carbs....

The meal was so full! Gosh, then Paya’s left me her keys and went to her event. I just hanging around the town, and went to the Korean mart nearby to get me some kimchi. However, eventually I only got a pack of pork dumplings as the kimchi was too expensive. Then, I guess I am pretty lucky, there’s a new asian store opened along the way back Paya’s place. The food there were quite cheap as well, and finally got my kimchi! =D

From around 5.30pm to 10pm, this was how I killed the time:

-online

-watching movie: 夏日乐悠悠 (which was not a good one==)

-chatting with Paya’s flatmate. She was abit weird to me, well at least I was not the only one thinks that. Paya said she was having depression due to the stress of her school work as well as pressure from the flat.

I felt myself lucky as my flat mates were not as worst as paya’s flat mates, yet. I sincerely hope all of us can stay peacefully and don’t get into this kind of situation. Really felt sorry for Paya, she must be pissed off and stressed everyday due to her immature and irresponsible flat mate.

Besides, also a big hug to Paya, bringing me to this cool place: the library lounge!

U must be very tired, but still bringing me to this awesome and relaxing place. We have awesome dessert tasting plate. Well, I think the desserts were alright, not like a “wow”, but this tasting plate is very worthy. NZ 30 for a tasting plate contains 5 types of small and fancy desserts (different varieties every time) which were shared for 2 people, so NZ15 each person, great place, great deal. <3

IMG_4496

Our dessert plate! Contains mousse cake, passion fruit sorbet, donuts stuffed with corn, brownies sticks, and a small bowl of dessert like a jam (which I was confused as well).

I also ordered cocktail! This is called Gambatte (meaning all the best in Japanese), contained Japanese Kubota sake, and plum wine! They put a huge doris plum in it!

 IMG_4497

At first I thought the big long stick was a spoon or straw, it is a chopstick! Creative man!

I like this so much, the taste is not too strong, can taste the sweetness of plum wine and freshness of sake, and the doris plum was so soft and juicy~

We hanged out at the “library” until 12.30am, and finally I shared my ugly ex-relationship stories with Paya. Well, I guess the environment and alcohol did trigger my emotion a bit that I decided to talk about this guy that I wouldn’t like to mention again. But I guess I have recovered as I was alright to talk about him, and really happy that he is out of my life now and no longer can step into my life ever again. Thanks Paya for knowing this ugly past that made me become a stronger women. =D

Yeah, felt grateful tonight able to attend the cancer fund-raising event hold at The Palms Radius Pharmacy centre. I got invited by Adelina via facebook, who was a course mate of mine recently moved in Palmy.

A 5-dollars ticket for entrance of this meaningful event is not expensive at all, everything on sales, and activities on hold in the pharmacy tonight will go to the charity for cancer society.

They served nibbles and wine too, well, I got full tummy as I already had massive dinner at Sushi house, and I also have left over~

Well, that’s nothing much for the event, basically just some tiny activities such as treasure map, hand massage, make up, and also sponsored staff and customers got their head shaved for charity. Luckily I brought Shirley along, at least I got company to talk with, or else it will be so bored. Haha, yea, I guess it was a small event, and they dint have much budget/sponsors, so basically we were like just enjoying ourselves.

I challenged the treasure map, which I need to guess if any treasure hidden in the map they provided, well, as I expected, I failed to find one and Shirley got one.

However, I dint leave with empty hand, got a small gift from Radius, which include…..

Ointment, mascara, toothpaste, ……

Actually I don’t mind if I left with empty hand, cause is all for charity. The world need love, there are still plenty of people out there who need helps. So give the world more love, more smile, and more hope.

Love <3 Peace.

Yea, thought the cheese cake I bought last night was great, turned out really disgusting

The lesson I’ve learnt today: don’t judge a book by it covers.

IMG_4488

No doubt that the green tea cheese cake looked appealing and tasty, but was a big disappointment!

I am not sure if it was just the baker have a bad day (then I am really unlucky), or because they just doesn’t know how to bake instead cooking. While since the last red bean daifuku I bought from them during cultural fest in March, I should have learnt that they need improvement on challenging dessert.

Back to the cheese cake, it had a very thick and hard crumb. The cheese was separated with the crumb easily. The cheese cake itself was not appetizing at all, too salty, and I felt like eating a piece of cream cheese! (Not even kidding…><)

It was off-flavour, off-odour, no green tea at all. (Excuse me, I bought it bcz it’s a green tea cheese cake…)

No wonder they gifted me a candy with it….=S

Time flies, Mayday’s here! (Not my idol, the greatest Taiwanese rock band tho)

Unfortunately, NZ’s Labour Day falls on October, which is very unusual. So, my curiosity brought me to the Wikipedia website, and I learnt that there was a history leading to the Labour Day in October. Thus, even US’s Labour Day is not on 1st of May.

For more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Day

I guess winter is here as well, I am dressing my winter coat today (not the bulky one, not that stage yet). It was so freezing cold this morning, I had to put on my winter beanie, but I felt weird when other ppl was still wearing shorts and skirts, eventually I hide it inside my bag. ==

I already started turning on my heater and electric blanket these nights. Then I realized I am getting old not just because I slept very early recently, now adding another fact, I am getting more afraid of cold. TT NOOOOO

Well, finally I had a catch-up with Michelle tonight, which was supposed to be scheduled at the end of March. == Hmm, Michelle is another popular person in palmy.

We had dinner at Bean café, I ordered curry laksa again. This is the problem with me, I really love the crispy chicken served in the curry laksa soup, I chose this meal most of the time is because of the chicken. I am thinking probably I should order a bowl of crispy chicken, and check out other meals aye? Probably other meal could be nice?

Oh at least, I bought a cheese cake from them today. It was not cheap, NZ 7 for a piece (but quite big), hopefully it is nice.

I had a good chat with Michelle tonight, and I am so happy for her that she finally offered a permanent job at Hamilton. I could feel how happy she is, and her family is coming next week for celebrating her grad + travelling around NZ. =D

We were planning to watch “Avengers” as her friend, who actually found out later is Nai Chen (my colleague) had extra 4 tickets which he and his friends were not able to use them. However, Michelle felt bad as she promised to watch that movie with her other friend. So, eventually I walked home around 7 in super cold weather =S. Well, I was not complaining, not to unable watching the movie, but yes to the freaking cold weather. Lately I discovered that I hate heroes’ movies, felt actually relief that I not need to watch “Avengers” and not need to walk home in a later timing with much more colder weather.

Some friends had uploaded album regarding food and life in Dunedin on facebook today, while looking on those photos, my heart just moved.

I miss Dunedin, a lot.

It has been 1 year and 4 months since I left Dunedin. I didn’t have much emotion when I left, but actually I left so many good and bad memories behind this city.

grad 125

I gained my degree, both majors (food sci and nutrition) in this city, met many friends there and I still keeping contact with many of them. I learnt a lot of skills there, not just basic academic skill, I learnt to cook, learnt to bake, learnt to organize events, and lastly learnt to love.

I started my first relationship in Dunedin, and be honest I really don’t like to talk about it anymore. However, not to mention that, I had became stronger, more confident, and more independent after my 3 years life in Dunedin. This city had changed me so much, and is a place meant so much for me.

I miss the time I spent in Uni with course-mates, at the science library, at lectures, at food science library discussing 311 project, at union hall having lunch/breakfast, at computer labs online/streaming/watching dramas.

DSC01426

I especially miss the food in Dunedin, mainly because of my nature of liking food so much, and also memories with friends dining at Dunedin just appeared in my head.

IMG_1241

I miss the bento box at Jitsu, miss the special Japanese food at Jizo, miss the satisfying meal at Minami, miss the foodies at Farmers Market, miss environment at Formosa, miss the greasy food at Chopstick 101, miss the dim sum at Golden Harvest, miss many good steak and western meals at various restaurants in Dunedin (ex: Table seven, Plato, Salt…etc). Miss some special nice cafes such as Nova, Swell, Capers….

Arg, I wanna go back so desperately. Not like settling now there, is too cold. While at least a visit for a week, fulfil my memories once again... =S

When I am able to see u again?
