well, I dint expect that, but yeah, I just come back from my first conference.

It was the NZ nutrition society conference, which held at Auckland Uni this year. Well, out of my expectation, it was actually poorly organized, many posters were missing, and some presenters were also not found standing beside their productions. ==

I thought more ppl will attend, but it was actually not that many, and the topics were actually pretty irrelevant to my current projects and also those topics were not very interesting. Is kind of just puzzling whatever topics they having at the moment and create a conference for the year. To be honest, I was pretty dissapointed.

However, it was still a good experience. At least, I went to a conference!

I took the flight on Wednesday evening, and actually my flight was delayed for an hour as Mount Ruapehu errupted that day!! Yes, again, it was the second eruption since a month ago, this was actually very scary~And then my flight actually changed another route and flied longer time to avoid the volcanic ashes from the eruption. But good thing was I got to view the Mount Taranaki even closely!! Unfortunately, the image was locked in my brain, as i was not sitting by the window, so no photo for sharing, oopsy...

My company arranged taxi driver was very friendly and professional, I got a very good service. But I only reached my apartment (I also wonder why not hotel?) around 9pm!! I quickly rushed to the restaurants opposite my apartment to get take away.

This is my meal!! A Unagi set with rice and side dishes. It was alright, but just felt awful to have meal at 10pm ==. Yes because something happened with my apartment payment, luckily the company sorted it out (although it only works out the next day =S)

I stayed right on Upper Queen St, now sincerely found that staying at Auckland city is really a great experience, if you stay at a good apartment/hotel/other acco...It was super convenient, and just very city life! I really like this, i am seriously a city girl!

I also could see Otago campus at Auckland from my balcony......But to be honest, Auckland is really busy, the night was not that quiet tho.

Ok I have to introduce the location of the conference as well. Actually I was told by my PA to catch a cab to the venue, but eventually I just walked, well easy pisy!

It was like just 20mins, and good walk tho. I dint really explore the whole Auckland Uni campus, but still captured some photos.

This is the Business school, very modern and big! They got basket ball field beside the campus???! omg, really Auckland

IMG_5907

I really like Auckland Uni place their key dates along with their map, which is really useful.

IMG_5908

And guess what, as Auckland Uni is located right at the heart of the city, so kinda like located side by side along the main road, so beside zebra crossing line on the top, they also have underground tunnel for crossing, which is safer. Yes, it is the one at the center, with glass sided door. And if u thought the tunnel would be just like normal tunnel, u was wrong. It was very modern, just like a normal uni room look.

and....I laughed when I found out this is the Auckland Uni clock tower....== omg this is just so sad when u know Otago campus has this clock tower

So much difference!!

I also met ZhuoShi at the conference, she was presenting her poster, and her topic actually gained a lot of attentions. That's good on her! Too bad, we dint have a photo together this time. But I did have a great dinner with ZhuoShi and WannZhen at Soto.

This is a very famous fancy Japanese cuisine located at Ponsonby, well when we said fancy, u could guess that, it is pricy as well

IMAG0488

we actually just shared every meal, most were entree cz it was too pricy. And they were so small in portion size, 3 ppl sharing 4 entrees and 1 main...hmmm.

ok, dont ask me what's that, bcz i actually forgot..lol...they were alright, not like 'WOW', and I actually think they were not very worthy for entree prices.

IMAG0490

and this is our only main we ordered, duck soba. I must say this was really tasty!! But it was too small!! far too small for 3 of us, oh well, it was not supposed to be shared, still if just myself with this and paid 30 dollars something for this, omg, i rather have something cheap and big. Oh well, it is alright for once, but not the second.

IMG_5924

and our dessert platter! Ok, I can come back Soto, but just for the dessert.  I actually would like to order the other 3 desserts that we missed, but still very happy with this dessert platter.

Unfortunately, the panna cotta was too soft, but it did come with a good taste. For the creme brulee, sigh, I think it was not bad, but too bad, I still suffered from my previous food poisoned incident, (mainly the digusting creme brulee flavor and after-taste just made me puke.) I dont think i will have creme brulee for a while.

IMG_5927

However, thumbs up for this green tea crepe cake!! Yummy!!!!

Oh well, eventually I still gain many things from this trip!

IMG_5930
