Today also marked the last day in Singapore, our flight is at night, so we also have a full day in Singapore today despite we are leaving.
The bucket list of today is a café where Wai Ee had been longing for some time, the Populus café at Tanjong Pagar/ Outram Park area.
We purposely woke up early today despite of late sleep last night because we were having some pillow talks until almost 3am.
We shared two mains – Tuscan lamb Harissa Baked Eggs and Buckwheat pancake. They are not cheap, but I must admit the food is really yummy.
This is what you called baked egg, runny and not overcooked. The lamb is chunky yet tender, match really well with the egg and the bread. I would love to have more bread though, just to pair with this fantastic baked egg.
The buckwheat pancake is very thick and dense, not really my kind of food but I can feel the wholesomeness and the healthiness of the food. Having these 2 mains were too much for us to order desserts as the portion size is generously huge.
After the satisfying brunch, we walked around this neighborhood from Keong Seik road up to Duxton hill, everywhere is so peaceful and harmony, this is not what I expecting to see in Singapore.
We also found out actually here is so close to Tanjong Pagar, Wai Ee was tempted to have a acai berry, we found this Randy Indulgence cereal and acai berry bar in the Tanjong Pagar MRT building.
Thanks to Wai Ee, I was introduced to this kind of breakfast dessert which I love a lot!
Acai Berries is a drupe, or stone fruit originated from South America, it is often called berry because of its texture which contains loads of edible seeds that is quite similar as berries.
The fruit shelf life is short, hence normally is packed and exported as a frozen pulp. That’s why the acai bowl is so delicious because it tastes like a parfait =)
The icy sensation is so healing in this hot climate, I had another bingsu at Bugis. Reason coming to Bugis also because here is close to Haji Lane. I missed Haji lane on my last visit due to the heavy rain, but this time I was able to take a close look.
Honestly, I am not impressed with the mural art here, thus I find here very touristic and commercial. I would recommend Tanjong Pagar or Outram Park area rather than Haji Lane.
Dinner was at Aloha Poke Bowl in Bugis shopping mall, the combination was refreshing, not cheap but poke bowl usually is quite pricy.
After dinner, we ended our Singapore trip by taking taxi to the Changi Airport.
The only thing I bought this time is the Cinnamonroll gachapon, I did not need to earn them from the gachapon machine as Tokyu Hand was selling them for SGD3 per pc.
Cute, isn’t it?
