Definitely a family day for me today, actually was really packed this weekend.

But good thing was it was packed with family and friends catch-up.

Since my last attempt at Senya, I always wanna bring my dad to try out their famous Hokkaido Pork Don, especially my dad is a pork lover.

Honestly, there is also another reason I want to come One Utama, because Pablo is having 50% discount for their matcha cheese cake this month! Yummy!

So, with my own axe to grind, I proposed to have lunch (maybe dinner too) at One Utama, meanwhile watching the movie too.

Recently, I had joined my family with many movies, from <Pirates of the Carriebeans>, <MUMMY>, <Spider Man> to today’s <War of the planet of the Apes>. Main reason was most of these movies are action movies which are suitable for family. Moreover, I had lost my movie partner since she got a boyfriend, I think she perhaps need more personal space then.

Without a long sleep like my usual Sunday, I woke up around 9am, and quickly dress up myself for the day. We arrived One U at approximately 1048am. The first thing we arrived was actually queueing for the Original Cake. It was definitely not pre-planned, just mum & dad had been recalling their childhood memories eating these traditional cakes with high egg content.

Just like what I expected, the cake indeed is very eggy, given that high volume and spongy texture, there’s must be “tons” of egg in the mixer. I suspected high amount of baking powder was added to provide that high rise texture, but with the strong eggy smell upon first bite, I immediately knew it was because of eggs. Unfortunately, I dislike the eggy taste, I am a fan of egg, but not this kind of strong Sulphur like eggy taste after baking. So, I really don’t see the point why this brand was so famous. However, dad and mum like it and they said this was how the old days cake taste like. Alright, as long as u guys like it, I am find.

Then, we walked around until around 12pm, we headed to Senya, one of the main purpose to visit One U today. Dad and Kai ordered the Hokkaido pork don I highly recommended, but dad actually didn’t have that good feedback as I did. Well he thought it was tasty, but still incomparable with Chinese traditional char siu. Come on, is totally 2 different dishes! I guess dad is a Chinese meal eater, he won’t appreciate the goodness of other cuisine. So, what I could do is just accept it, but continue bringing him to try other cuisine lol =D.

At least, Kai and mum really love what they had. Mum had the salmon teriyaki set, and she kept saying worthy which was kinda unusual because she is fussy. I tried out a small bite of her salmon too, the cut was quite thick, and the meat was juicy. =) Same as me, mum also love their miso soup and agedashi tofu.

This time, instead of trying the hokaiddo pork again, I ordered the salted sana set which Karen ordered last time. Just like last time, the fillet is also huge and juicy ^^ On top of all the good flavors, the portion size was big (although I really think the Hokkaido pork had slightly reduced size) and the price is actually not too expensive. We even discussed and commented that the price actually is cheaper than some Japanese cuisine in Klang. Therefore, Senya is definitely my favourite Japanese in Malaysia now.

After lunch, we continued our shopping at Isetan. I had shopped so much today, bought masks and new bras which was out of my expectation. Then, around 250pm, we headed to GSC for the movie. Honestly, I prefer the last 2 movies of the ape series than this latest one. I found <wars of the planet of the apes> was a bit boring, the storyline somehow was predicted, and it did not really discuss how humanity end and replaced by the ape’s generation.

After the movie, we went for dinner at Thai Hou Sek. Actually, we were struggling to choose the dining place, there are too many choices in the mall and we were too picky. In the end, they back to where I first suggested – a new thai restaurant just recently opened in One U. We ordered some dishes to be accompanied with rice, but the rice was overpriced with RM3 per bowl!

The seafood tom yum come with a wholesome seafood from big prawn, fish fillet to mussels and squids. Amount of seafood given was generous with price of RM26. The soup itself was not bad, good to pair with the white rice. Other dishes were not bad too.

Then, of course I never forgot my purpose of coming all the way here – Matcha Cheese cake from Pablo!

50% off! RM25 is acceptable for me though my family think it was still very expensive. But I think it is way worthy than the original cake.

Taste was ok, not very matcha that I expected. I think maybe Japan Pablo had better taste for sure. Hopefully they selling their original version half price soon so that I could compare side by side =D
