On the last day of Malacca trip, we woke up quite early and went to the food we missed out on the previous night:

580299_10151707826806909_1488934507_n

this is like a Malacca version 'bak-kut-teh', come with a pork + intestine herbal soup and yam rice.

The general taste was mild and refreshing...but i am from Klang, so i still preferred the original Bak Kut Teh =D

Mr. Yap was very crazy that day, he purposely drove down to Malacca to meet us for lunch.

Well, we still felt irrestitable to the Nadeje mille crepe, so here we go again:

563067_10151710245996909_366245658_n

We ordered 5 pieces in total:

Our trip continued today with more fun and challenges on the second day, because we walked a lot!

actually i was totally fine as i think i dint walk as much as compared to those tracks i had been to during tramping/hiking in NZ.

But i was very happy and enjoyed myself along with yimei and bean on the outing day.

We kicked off our outing today with a yummy chicken rice at Jonker Walk (the old town centre):

551272_10151704237736909_1915050331_n

I never like hainanese chicken because i dont like the texture and the oily taste, but this hainanese chicken recommended by yimei was very smooth and tender.

i love how the rice balls go together with the chicken =D

After we boosted up our energy level with the yummy breakfast, we started explore the herritage township.

of cause creating fun photos  is a must-do activity!

We started our first stop at Christ Church, then continued with walking up the hill for the St.Paul's church, then all the way down to A-famosa..

I guess i was getting high as well, because I started all the weird posing for the photoshoot...hehe

1240299_10151710222121909_1486696239_n

ok here's come a normal one:

1230076_10151710220021909_1279845353_n

Then I met a dinasour!

1150998_10151710222876909_19073267_n

..........................sorry, i was getting high again~

We continued our way to the newly built Menara Malacca (Menara = tower) by passing the little train exhibition area.

And finally got there:

1374254_10151710199266909_71812607_n

not this far, is this close:

IMG_9395

This is the first gyro tower built in Malaysia, and also my first ride in a gyro tower =)

IMG_9396

It cost RM10 per person with the presence of MyKad (FYI: Malaysian identity card).

I actually got a little nervous when the moving platform where we sat lifted up from the ground as I am mildly suffered from acrophobia.

565043_10151710227611909_657132848_n

But it was awesome to see how Malacca city was organized, especially for the Jonker walk, it was really impressive!

After seeing from the top, we went on the ground and exploring the Malacca history in a cool ship.

IMG_9418

Then we were getting hungry after using up the energy on walking, we went for lunch.....tada!

IMG_9438 1235027_10151704901661909_568193593_n

I had the nyonya asam laksa while yimei and ing bean picked the 'nyonya asam laksa kahwin baba asam laksa' Lol

their names are so funny, which means the nyonya married the baba, i mean the laksa ==

FYI: u can find out the nyonya and baba's story here .

The laksa were very yummy, good in taste and portion size. I was so full! But still got stomach for the yummy durian nyonya cendol, OMG

1234507_10151704901516909_1593777595_n

I ald got excited after hearing the name! I love the gula malacca (malacca cane sugar) pouring on my cendol, the smell was unforgettable, and just boosted up my appetite.

Then of cause, it was a recycle activity: eat-walk-eat-walk and eat again...no, we just finished lunch so we continued walking, exploring the shops at Jonker Walk.

I found so many good stuffs, but too bad i was poor and out of job, i swear i will come back again after i got paid from my future employer.

Before that, let's just keep on walking =.=

IMG_9441

Jonker walk actually shared some similarity as Georgetown in Penang, it was surrounded with unique artistic shops, and street art.

IMG_9446

 1374273_10151710237206909_8529042_nIMG_9451

We also visited the nyonya and baba museum where the old story about peranakan was told.

557165_10151710174556909_217376643_n

too bad i can only show u the entrance bcz photo is prohibited in the museum. However, all the furnitures are well preserved and good maintained.

The nyonya's story is interesting, and the tour guide is a good story teller. I quite enjoyed the 1-hr tour in the beautiful nyonya house.

Then, we went to the temple nearby for a pray.

Bought some nice drinks and an egg-y ice for replenishing our thirst.

IMG_9445 1010746_10151710242346909_1232667433_n

It was a good and long day, had dinner at a restaurant where well-known with creamy prawn noodle soup.

 1238196_10151706580611909_1948050729_n

It was a fun trip after all, no wonder bean bought this for a good souvenier:

   1186135_10151710242771909_1856999546_n

and all of us also got a friendship band to memorize this wonderful trip =D

Ok, i am very slow & lazy recently, must come back to the blogging world asap...hehe

is time to update or i shud say re-update my previous trip to Malacca which was happened in September last year oh my =.= is 2014 now!!

It was a very fun trip bcz i was with my besties for a trip for the first time after back home since July (2013)

Yimei come with this idea in order to clear her leaves, but a very good time for both ing bean and I as both of us were jobless anyway =S

I have long time never been to Malacca, especially after Malacca got listed by UNESCO world herritage site since 2008 because of its historic, well preserved buildings

So i was very excited and looking forward for the trip. We had dim sum at Bkt tinggi with kok chin before we drove there. Poor kok chin couldnt join us....

This was the first step for us in Malacca:

IMG_9332

Yes, mille crepe!! Finally i was able to try out this cool dessert!!

See how excited i was!

1238240_10151710170886909_1903204042_n

Nadeje had been a familiar name to me when i was still staying in NZ, had been looking a lot of photos of frens taken with the crepe cakes.

Indeed, the mille crepes are very yummy, i love how they tastes smoothly & not heavy at all though u can see plenty of layers of cream filled one by one.

1374342_10151710169476909_758885327_n

Not all the flavors are great, but overall they are still worth to try and give a big thumb!

I love their appearances a lot!

Woman will never say NO to dessert, unless they are dieting....go to hell diet, dont border me when i am on trip! lol

So, yimei brought us to the kampung (villages) area to try the famous coconut shake!

532137_10151702836126909_1628528222_n

THIS IS A MUST-TRY!! They are SUPER GOOD in taste!! Felt so relieved having this shake in such a hot weather, such a humid environment...back to heaven, oh yeah =)

We were living in a hotel for this trip, got lucky that we actually got upgraded for a bigger room which contains 2 king-sized beds, well enough to fit in 3 of us.

i forgot to snap a look of our room, but it is a quite comfy room, the only thing i was not satisfied with was the shower.

The water power wasnt strong enough....=S

After we checked-in for our room, we continued our trip for dinner again, lol, this is indeed a food hunting trip.

But i was quite looking forward for the dinner then because we were going to try out famous satay celup because it had been representing an icon of Malacca.

IMAG1010

We went to this famous satay celup restaurant, and tried out almost 40 sticks!!

I think it was just ok, not such a great taste which ppl have to get too overwhelmed with. But perhaps i had a picky palate then.

Then after dinner, we were so full, so we went to the old town centre to go for a walk.

Getting excited with the big guitar at HardRock cafe.

I only found out Malacca river could be so beautiful at night. (when the light gone, when the floating rubbish 'vanished' , when the brownish river was unseen)

IMAG1012

The night had fallen, so we moved into the mall to have some drinks while waiting to meet another fren who worked in Malacca...

but too bad he was very busy and unable to meet us, i guess next time then, if there is a reunion again....

We had chatted so much that night before we closed our eyes, gossipping all the past happened in high school

the girls, the rumours, the boys, the teachers, the studies, the events, the friendships....

i am really grateful we are still connecting each other now, friendship forever my dearest!..

Happy birthday to my special fren - kok chin!

Haha, his birthday was actually fall on 1st September, and we got to celebrate for him after so many years..especially among 5 of us, 3 of us including kok chin and myself had been spending life overseas for almost 6 yrs.

Therefore, this year birthday celebrate marked a big event to him!

1378374488500

We went to Brew n Bread at Kota Kemuning, apparently this Western style cafe was owned by our classmate's brother.

13781151868761378188993248

The cafe's interior is very relaxing and comfortable to chill out for the whole afternoon, I think we spent the longest time over there as compared with other customers.

In my opinion, their food considered quite cheap in terms of western meal, and they do a great deal for their cakes.

1378115179914

We bought these 3 slices of cakes - yogurt cheese cake, tiramisu and lemon chocolate mousse for RM16, and the staffs were very understanding. They found out we were celebrating our best mate's big day, they decorated the plate and also sang birthday song for the lucky guy.

1378115183251

Ing bean was also very happy with her coffee =)

IMAG1001

1378374479937

Yimei brought her polaroid camera over and used the taken photos for his gift. Such a lovely gift, he is indeed a lucky guy!

IMAG1002

When come to the food quality, i think they were quite normal but at least not bad. However, my frens did love the food very much, i guess I have a picky taste bud and I had eaten the 'real' western food for nearly 6 yrs so I did have higher expectation.

If based on Malaysia standard, I guess the food are not bad, but i think there are better western cuisine somewhere for sure. I do recommend this place for young generations as the environment and cost are good for visit.

137837438482513783744081851378374492921

We back to Klang at night for the famous "fried porridge", or "fried congee".

Yes, I mean fried porridge...not fried rice..I guess the chef cook the porridge with a 'chinese wok' (frying pan) instead of cooking pot.

1378374508036

The taste is good, and the restaurant is packed!

1378374505186

We also ordered my favourite crab!! OMG, I always love crab and it is super hard to have chance for eating crab in NZ, the last time i had grab perhaps was at Perth last year when I visited Nicky.

Thanks to kok chin, I was so pamperred with good food on his big day, and once again, happy (belated) birthday XD

Ok, this post is more about the photos rather than words, yet the visual effect is simple than long sentences

here are those photos which I've taken since back home, most were from outing with besties...

Never fail to visit japanese cuisine back home, especially all my beloved mates knew I am a crazy Japan fans!

The soba-sushi set is from a Japanese cuisine nearby my house, but first visit for me =P

It was a crazy night, we couldnt find any free-seat at other restaurants/cafe, ended up we went to this place and waited for some time.

IMAG0976IMAG0977

The food was alright, well, moderate rate for taste would be given from me, but I ranked good variety rate for the menu =)

Combination of different japanese food is good for me as I have trouble when come to 'choosing', but sushi never fail to attract me, therefore i got this set without doubt

However, i do think the soba was a bit dissapointing...

IMAG0978 IMAG0979

Well, is not all about frens outing, these 2 photos were taken when I had meal with family =D

Food on the top is a chicken-chop meal come along with onions, potatoes, peas, fried egg, tomatoes and sweet & sour sauce. I had it at a well-known coffee shop at port klang, where my dad's shop is closed by.

Chicken-chop is very normal 'western' meal in Malaysia, but it is not common (as far as I known, there arent any which I had seen in NZ) in the western world. NZ fine dining places serve chicken-thighs, chicken-breast (likely mixed with bacon - known as cordon bleu) or stuffed chicken. Whereas chicken chop well known in Malaysia is a piece of chicken fillet (boneless or come with little bone).

I had this port-klang favourite chicken chop since childhood, and it still taste the best after my return. =)

The photo at the bottom is a pork-pumpkin casserol served in a pumpkin-bowl. It was from one of the dishes we ordered during dinner.

Though the chef is creative on this recipe, i dint really like it perhaps because i am not a pumpkin-fans.

1002313_595737250449153_1975256710_n

Continued with my frens outing photos, we went to Morib beach and Morib Gold Coast!

It was a good day at the beach where we took nearly 1 & 1/2 hrs drive, and we picked up Bean who live at Banting along our trip.

We did have a lot of fun at this famous beach where we always had written in our former essays during school life, but it was actually my first time visiting Morib.

IMAG0987

Although this beach is nothing as compared with any other beaches in NZ or Aussies, I did enjoy the time we spent at there, I guess memories with besties made everything perfect.

IMAG0983IMAG0989

We even had fun playing with the hermit crab~

IMAG0990IMAG0991

It is indeed a bit scary, but it was so shy and kept on hide itself when we touch it. At the end, we just had to hold it quietly, firmly and patiently waited it to crawl out from its comfy home...

Never forgot we headed to the pasar Ramadan after the beach and bought almost every different variety of food/snacks from the Malays stalls.

We were so excited about the food we seen, i guest four of us were the only chinese at the market.

IMAG0993

Then this HUGE ABC could be found from the mamak stalls nearby Giant at Bkt tinggi, taste is just typical familiar ABC, i guess the special size just made it different.

Well, these Taiwanese desserts were eaten this other day at a dessert shop at Bkt tinggi too.

I guess Klang had been well-developing and we no longer need to boost in to the capital to hunt for good food.

Undeniably, cafes/restaurants at outer Klang still proud with their varieties/flavors, but it is a good thing that at least we still could able to find taiwanese, japanese, korean, western cuisine etc easily in our neighbourhood.

IMAG0996  IMAG0995

Yet I wont rate these taiwanese dessert 'good', but i am glad at least i could find them at Klang.

IMAG0998

And these "peach buns" were the dessert served at my uncle's 80 years old birthday celebration dinner, he host a big reunion dinner at a hotel restaurant and my whole family were invited. I was just amazed by the big bun. haha.

IMAG1037

I got this omelette rice meal from the food court at a shopping mall, hmm, can i consider this as confession? lol

IMAG1028

Last, with my best fren, busy-ing with her phone as well as enjoying her carls junior burger. I dint ever try carls junior after the branch arrived at Palmy while I still at NZ, never believe that i entered the One-U branch after 2 months later =S

Bean (my besties) is a super-carls junior fan, she had been craving for the burger all time but never get one as she live in Banting.

Good on her happy with her meal =)
