Another fruitful and happening month for me because I am departing to Singapore next month. In this case, August become the last full month in Malaysia to me.
Bakel’s kitchen have thrown the QA manager, Catherine a birthday celebration, with watermelon. =.=
I hope Catherine is sincerely happy with this “creative cake”.
Wo-men group also have another gathering with Thai style hot pot, but the smoke level is killing me. =(
We decided to move to another location for catch-up.
Mamak, I have cheese and garlic naan.
Meanwhile I also start announcing my departure.
Therefore, I will have many catch-up sessions in August.
I told Jennifer during our catch-up at Little People café, another popular café in social media.
I think the food was just alright.
My wound is getting healed.
I also met Wai Ee at Breakfast thieves @ APW Bangsar, I had been longing for this place for some time.
Their baked egg is yummy!
We ate so much that day, we even went to Proof at next door for truffle pizza!
And a dessert pizza, omg!
This little girl come to visit too, aww, I will miss her so much!
Kelvin come back this month too, we had Tsukemen together at Mitsuyado Seimen @ Starling Mall.
This is my first attempt for tsukemen, a kind of dry thick noodle to eat together with a special dip sauce originated from Japan.
I like the dip sauce, very thick and flavorful.
Kelvin told me he is a sucker for cake, so I brought him to Rekindle.
He is happy that I will join him in Singapore, haha.
I also went to Mama Kim for the first time, with Shoei Yeou and Poi Yee, soon to be my ex-colleagues.
They had been addicted to this healthy vegan restaurant by Herbal Line lately.
To me, this place is just like Simple Life, provide more fancy but healthy meals.
My family recently also found a Vietnamese restaurant in our neighborhood, their Vietnamese dishes not just authentic, but also come with large portion and reasonable price.
Huey Yee also is one of the friends in my list to catch up this month.
I proposed to meet at the Farm Food craft @ Bangsar South.
This place is a bit fancy, perhaps is more suitable for couples to come for a fine dining occasion.
Food I would say is fresh, rather than yummy.
However, Sunbather Coffee café at the same place is worthy for multi-visit.
Apparently, this place is also counterpart café of Kakiyuki café (formerly known as Kakigori café), but their chocolate roll cake was not as good as their sister café’s match roll cake.
The deconstructed feta cheesecake is so innovative and delicious!
The cheese is rich and perfectly blend with the rose scented ice cream and baklava bits.
Loey come again, haha. We have many good times.
Another catch-up, with Li Ting at Les Petits Jours café at Cheras.
This café only provides 3 menus daily, their food is more home-made and simpler.
I was amazed with their cakes, simple yet yummy.
MT from Japan have a small pop up exhibition at Kinokuniya KLCC, I purposely went to visit and had a good time.
I had been addicted to washi tape since early this year, MT is the pioneer when come to washi tapes but I never have any of their product.
Hence, I took this advantage to see their products.
They even have gachapon!
Stamp to mark my visit~
I am impressed how people can create artwork with washi tapes!
In the end, i bought some washi tapes home:
Of course, I also met up Carlyn in KL, we went to have a very yummy lunch at Chocha Food Store.
Their cincalok fried chicken is so crispy and yummy!
The braised duck with rice also is irresistible.
Then we went to Lorong Panggung aka Kwai Chai Hong (Ghost Lane) in Cantonese for photo sessions XD
OOTD photos at this place had gone viral in social media since it had transformed with mural art and packaged with cultural stories.
Petaling Street was so hot, we went to Vintage 1988 café for a chilled drink.
There are so many nice café along this street, really wish I have bigger stomach to eat all of them.
Another dinner at the neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant.
Bahn mi and the Vietnamese style rice dumpling dessert.
As mentioned in last month blog post, I will tender once my work visa in Singapore is approved. This had happened in mid-August, my future company had bought me over for 1 and a half month, my last day would be in early September after deducting my remaining annual leaves.
Bakels’ sales colleagues had started farewell with me, lol. They brought me to this Puchong seafood porridge restaurant to have such a luxurious seafood meal, thank you!
This would be my last banana leave rice too, because I am not a fan of banana leaves, but the occasion of having this had become a lot since I joined Bakels 3 years ago.
Then, this group would be the one I miss the most!
We had a farewell gathering cum mooncake festival celebration at Derrick’s house.
The Malaysia dream card game is so much fun and entertaining!
We even carried the lantern and walked around the neighborhood!
So funny, as we could not find any stick to hold the lantern, we used hanger XD
I met Li Ting again during end of the month, at Snitch By The Thieves @ Gardens Mid Valley.
Their food is very healthy and yummy, worthwhile to visit again.
Another usual family lunches.
Bee Peng’s bday also happening this month, I think probably hard for me to join these celebrations in the future.
Guess I probably will miss this scene too?
My colleague, Siti had created this special farewell lunch invitation for me, haha.
The farewell lunch at Nando’s went smoothly with my colleagues from R&D and QA department.
I gave a speech to thank my colleagues for all the help and support given during my 3 years journey. I think I will miss them.
Then, after so long, I also met my other colleague, Gina for a beer session with dinner.
We went to a western cuisine at Kota Kemuning, their paella is quite good.
Last but not the least, I brought my family to Petaling street today because I really want my dad to try out the cincalok fried chicken at Chocha food store.
He like it, but I don’t think he is impressed haha.
We also ordered other food, but is not impressive as the braised duck and cincakook fried chicken.
We also had fried sweet potato ball at Petaling street
That’s all for my August in 2019. I will certainly enjoy the last 2 weeks in Malaysia in coming September.
