Can't believe I have a food trip before CNY, it was the swimming group's idea.

Talking about the swimming group, is more like a bunch of people who knew each other through the pool but in the end none of us are really that active in swimming.

Especially for me, i had gave up swimming after attending 2 classes. LOL.

If you wonder if I still into swimming, the answer is NO. I never into beaches, sea or pool, so i am fine with it.

I only take swimming as a surviving skill, maybe one day i may take up the lesson again, but not sure when.

Ok the topic had gone way too far, let's talk about my one day trip at Malacca.

Most of them were surprise i took the chance to go Malacca with them, i am considered the last person joining the group, and seldom really poped up or talked in the group.

I decided to give myself a chance to join them, to know more friend and also to be more opened.

The food trip started from Pei Ling house at USJ in the early morning, and 6 of us squeezed in the car and drove all the way to Seremban.

We had dim sum for breakfast, honestly they are not tasty, not sure why they picked that place. I think we could have better option, but indeed the price was considered cheap for yum cha.

Then we continued our journey to Malacca, the first dish we had in Malacca was around 11am plus, we were still full so decided just order a few dishes to share with.

Ken brought us to this nyonya cuisine - Donna & Lily's restaurant. I never heard of it, but apparently it was quite famous.

malacca1.jpg

We ordered the Nasi Kerabu which come with chicken rendang, the rice is really nice, everyone is digging in. Rendang was not bad too.

malacca30.jpg

Ken said we must never miss this famous laksa, come with 3 huge prawn, but cost RM25 per bowl!

To be honest, i really think it was just alright, u can get better and cheaper laksa at Jonker 88.

malacca31.jpg

We also get our cendol, nothing special, just like normal cendol.

Next, we moved ourselves to Malacca must visit street - Jonker Street.

We parked our car near the Malacca river, and walked about 10mins to Jonker street.

malacca2.jpg

Today is sunny, but actually not that hot.  Due to CNY, jonker street today is more red and festive.

We actually was very full so we just walked around jonker street, and for the first time, finally i able to step in Mamee museum =)

malacca6.jpg

I always love to visit here, but never have a chance. This place is so abdorable, and they actually hold workshops for making your own instant mamee snack.

Mamee had been a childhood memory, though i am well aware that the company also had a bad working culture and poor management.

There is a mini layout of the process of making mamee snack in the museum, which is quite cute.

Too bad we didnt reserve ourselves for the workshop as we didnt preplan here earlier, we did gone upstair to see how the workshop venue looks like.

malacca11.jpg

It must be lots of fun. There is actually a mamee cafe in this museum too, but as i said, we were so full so we didnt eat anything here.

This photo was taken from the second floor, and this blue wall is belongs to the cafe.

malacca12.jpg

We didnt stay long at Mamee museum, then we just walked around shops at Jonker street.

I saw this at one of the souvenier shop at JOnker street, oh my, so cute, but too bad it was too expensive for me.

malacca13.jpg

malacca14.jpg

This time, i also walked to the back alley behind jonker street.

malacca15.jpg

malacca16.jpg

Then, we eat again!!! lol. We gone to Jonker 88, but we did not order the laksa because we still feel full, so we only had the cendol, durian and mochi cendol and mango cendol.

malacca17.jpg

This durian cendol was RM12! I do think it was overpriced, bcz Jonker 88 is fame of their delicious laksa, as for cendol, i think it was nice but not something that can shout out.

malacca18.jpg

On the other hand, their mango cendol is more refreshing, the sourness actually is more appetizing.

Then, we eat again! We make our way to Klebang for coconut shake.

malacca19.jpg

However, i really think their standard had dropped, they either using less coconut or they just lose their quality.

malacca27.jpg

The taste of coconut was so mild, i think Sangkaya's easily beat it! It was actually kinda dissapointing.

After that, we gone into shopping mall, hang around as Pun, the married guy in our group is looking for a good jewelry for his wife as valentine gift.

Such a lovely husband, i am not jealous though ^^

We also had Nadeje crepe cakes because Pei Ling never eat it. Wooah, i have countless attempt here~

malacca22.jpg

We get 3 cakes in total, the original, mango crepe cake and tiramisu crepe cake.

malacca20.jpg

Mango is ok only, i do think their tiramisu cake is nice .

malacca21.jpg

However, i think Nadeje crepe cake is overpriced, and they placed lots of cream in their cake, i think there are some cafes offered better crepe cake than them.

Before proceed to dinner, (yes, we are just into food) we went to the ferris wheel near to Malacca river, this place is pretty much abandoned, only a few locals and a few foreign travellers who passed by come to have a ferris wheel ride.

Reason we were here was because Pei Ling (Pieces) need to get a ferris wheel ride with Aquarius (Li TIng) in order to get good luck in 2018 according to the horoscope fortune teller.

malacca23.jpg

I like to read something about horoscope but i never into the these daily fortune, so i am good with just sitting beside the river and get some fresh air.

malacca28.jpg

malacca29.jpg

By the way this is the first time i been here.

Then we have dinner before head back to home, Ken brought us to this Malays fish village area for cheap grilled seafood.

malacca24.jpg

all the seafood is charged based on weight, and you can select your own seafood, there was a huge area with lots of different fresh seafood.

Basically the ladies, us, just sitting down waiting those gentleman to pick the food lol.

malacca25.jpg

Frankly speaking, regardless of the price, i think the taste was just alright, i wouldnt recommend to come all the way here and you need to line up for seats and pick your own seafood, and also experienced long wait for the food being grilled.

malacca26.jpg

That's all for the sum up of my one day food trip, not really have all good food, but is a good day to spare with this bunch of new known friend.

I enjoy the day ^^
