It should be named the international spring festival, however, I prefer the previous name, with the japanese national flower, held in a japanese college, fair enough right??

Apparently, they decided to change the festival name due to last year incident. Last year, it was coincidentally fell on the same Saturday with chinese mid autumn festival, and yes, chinese (ok to be specific, i mean mainland chinese) were very sensitive with the japanese culture and they actually refused to celebrate both festivals on the same day. However, I have no idea how hashed was last year event went off, and I just don't care.

All I want is just see the sakuras!!!!

But, the weather was really very bad, it din't really make up its mind, so I had been considering to go or not for the entire morning while watching my Arashi's show and looking at the suddenly cloudy, suddenly sunny sky.....

Moreover, there's an potluck event in the night at jessie's friend, slyvia's house. Well, and we need to prepare the dish together, so eventually we only took the bus at 3pm, and we arrived nearly half pass 3. And guest what? We just mildly caught up with the closing ceremony with japanese taiko....

And, obviously, we dint manage to get a very good seat, haha =P But i still felt lucky to be able to watch and listen to the energertic and fantastic taiko!

We were surrounded by the whole japanese community, haha, it just somehow felt like I was in Japan @@ Too bad, I couldn't say japanese, or else, I would definitely go to Japan!!

The food were sold out pretty early I guest as we found no more Japanese food after we arrived, well, was lucky to able to buy a box of sushi~ But pretty obvious was from the store at Plaza or downtown, not a fancy one, but matched with the atmosphere!

Then, we were so looking forward with the sakura rows beside the lake, but well, I guest the weather this year did not make it, it was too early for hanami (Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of cherry blossoms), cause the sakura had not bloomed yet!! TT SAD!!!

Nevertheless, we still caught a few photos....

as u can see, the entire sakura rows were very "empty"....

the dry rose can be beautiful too! <3

IMG_2238.JPG

haha, this was the only blossomed sakura tree we able to find!

That's all for the sakura festival, then we went to slyvia's house at summer hill, which is actually a farm! Her parents in law pet so many different types of animals, such as sheep, chicken, and a beautiful bird type animal which I forgot what it called....

it is so beautiful, just like a peacock, but I forgot the name....

IMG_2263.JPG

can u see those sheeps at the bottom of the hill? It was so edgy and dangerious when I took this photo, but I was so impressed with the farm, and I was actually wearing gumboot when I took this photo! =)

It was fun to visit slyvia's farm, well her parent's in law farm, living there were so nice, which was a very good place for retirement!

Then, is dinner time!! (Regardless we had used almost 2 hours to prepare the meal!!)

IMG_2266.JPG

There's like 10 of us, and we had so much of food!!! Definitely too much, and we did bring some back home....As u can see, where there's chinese, there's dumplings!!! Somehow I am getting sick of these, lol.

IMG_2268.JPG

and yes, since an indian couple come, we got indian food too...actually I still prefer they cooked indian curry despite of the unpleasant smell =P

Slyvia's son is definitely the highlight of the night, this hyperactive kid is so cute, but yes, very annoying to me, I guest I still not very good at coping with children, even though I had an younger brother who is 9 years apart from me. =P

So the end of dinner, but begining of spring! Welcome back the sunny weather! =D
