Eel, which is unagi! Yes, I mean the Japanese one, although I dint try the western or chinese one…Anyway, such a good luck, I found a fresh eel-cut fillet at Pak n Save!
Yum, unagi-don just appeared in my mind, so I bought it without hesistate, and guest what, it was just 5 bucks for a big cut!
I looked through all those recipes online, and found out something which is not very good, those unagi-don ppl cooked always used those frozen one which was pre-packed and imported from Japan, it is very difficult to cook eel from fresh!
GOD, why??!
Oh well, finally I found one recipe, or I should say the preparation part could be used then. I cut the fillet into small pieces, and cooked it in boiling water..
Oh u wont imagine how smelly it was! = =
Then, I applied the okonomiyaki sauce and soy sauce on top of the cooked fillets, and baked it in the oven.
I baked for like an hr actually, which wait until the fish became soft….
And tada!
I served it with rice, and fresh couregette and Japanese seasoning~ yum!
Well, is different from those unagi don, cz the fish itself is not that soft, and I peeled off the skin, and they were very oily and slimmy…..yeah, next time wont buy those fresh one, probably will head to Auckland and buy a pre-packed one! Yeah!
Having such good dinner during my sick period, well done!
